Digital optical connection is creating any sound

I have recently purchased a digital optical cable to run from my samsung home theatre into one of my LCD TV/PS3/HD PVR, however, I am able to get no sound from the system. The connection seems to be correct and I have switched the Auxillary audio to Digital, but nothing, Any suggestions?

Check to ensure the Home Theater is outputting the digital audio via the optical cable.
