My printer does not turn on?iam pushing the on button.

Unplug the power supply from the printer. The power supply is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. With the other end of the power cord still plugged in to the power outlet, the power supply of your Lexmark X5650 should have a green light on around the silver contacts. If not, you might have a defective power supply. If that's the case, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for the power supply request. If there is, plug it back in the printer all the way through and in a correct position. Printer should power on automatically, otherwise, press the power button. If printer is still not powering on, it might be defective now. Contact Lexmark Technical Support for further troubleshooting.

Hi, first; lets’ start from scratch. Turn off your (Computer), turn off the (Printer), unplug the printer from the power outlet; do not make any changes to the computer. Disconnect (all) the printer cables from the computer; reconnect the cables to the computer, and plug in to power outlet. Turn on the computer (first), turn on the printer. Go to; Control Panel, (Hardware and Sound), click Printer; if the Printer is present; click to open, Properties, click (Drivers): Update Drivers. Restart computer. Thanks paul7of9

Error code 5100 and belt that moves ink cartridge is making noise.

hi there....
since u dint specify ur printer model.... iam giving u a generic reset procedure..... first try this
1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal..

5100 is a Carriage Home Position Error. if the above reset procedure dint help....
try cleaning the plastic strip that runs the length of the carriage, it may be contaminated.
Use alcohol and a swab.
check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.
if even after cleaning the strip ur experiencing the problem then u can be rest assured that its time to call canon...
thank you for using Fixya...
have a nice day
Please rate this solution.

To start though, turn the printer off or have it off and the power plug removed from the back of the printer. Then, reattach the power, and then press Power and Cancel/Reset at the same time and continue to hold them until the lights flash or you get some other acknowledgment. If you don't see anything happen hold them down for up to a few minutes, release and then turn power off at the button. Restart and try a test page. See if that quick and dirty trick works in your case or not. Meanwhile I'll take some time on Sunday to find a solution for you if I can find one.
