there is a 4 clip plastic on the top. Remove that. In the bottom there is only guide clip that you need to pull. You must have a right tool in order to remove this, like flat screwdriver ( small ).. there is 2 screws you need also to remove,, check that one.

DX4300-05 How to open Gateway panels

1) Jaws of Life.

2) Acetylene torch

OH, I'M JUST KIDDIN'!

Gateway Support > DX4300 series of Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://support.gateway.com/us/en/s/desktop/2009/gateway/dx/dx4300/DX4300nv.shtml

http://support.gateway.com/s/desktop/2009/gateway/dx/dx4300/DX4300rv.shtml

Looking at the Front of the computer, is how you determine Right side, and Left side.
The Right side removes with two screws, as far as I can see.

The Left side is a little harder to tell.

Gateway Support is of no help on this one. At least that I have found. Not in User Manual, because it's generic. One size fit's all.

However looking at the Rear View, it looks like the usual style to me.
Hard to make out though, because it's painted Black.

ON the back edge of the Left Side Panel, appears to be a Thumbscrew.
Even with centerline of Power Supply fan.

But there also appears to be a type of flip lock.
Or should state; push over to the inside; a little.

Then using the Fingerpull molded handle on the Left Side Panel, pull the side panel back.

Usually there are Slots in the metal frame, of the computer case.
The side panel has Tabs that stick out, with hooked end.
Along the top, and/or along the bottom.

You pull the side panel back until it stops, then move back forward about an inch, or so. Then bring the side panel straight out.

No?
Then post back what you see, and we'll try to figure it out together.

Post back in a Comment.

Gateway 508ge gives 3 long beeps when restarted, will not open at all

The beeps you hear are BIOS Beep Codes. The computers method of telling you something is wrong, and an area to look into for it.

3 Long beeps generally means a memory error.

I would like you to remove all Ram Memory modules ('Stick'), and clean the gold plated contact pins on the bottom.

Gateway Support > Gateway GE508 Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/3724/4425nv.shtml

Click on User Guides

Click on the second file down -
8510196- 6-Bay Desktop Case Setup Poster Side 2

This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
It takes a few seconds for poster to come up.

Power unplugged from computer.
Observe the Back view. Look at the right side edge. Coming down from the top about 1/3rd the way, is a computer case screw. Towards the bottom is a second computer case screw.
These two screws are loosened. They are not supposed to come out.

Once these two case screws are loosened, you can pull the Side Panel off, using the finger depression in the Side Panel.
(It is the Left Side Panel viewing the computer from the front)

It may be difficult. The panel is pulled back approximately an inch or so, then lifted out.
There are tabs coming from the Side Panel that go into slots in the computer case. This is why the panel only comes back about an inch or so, then is lifted out.

Also on the user guide page is a generic user manual. This shows how to open the computer case,
(Gateway Computer User Guide. Go to Page 50)

According to Gateway Support, the motherboard is an Intel (Ausberg) 915G,

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=20120&dscr=Intel%20%28Augsburg%29%20915G%20Motherboard%20BIOS%20UpdateRevision:%20AG91510J.15A.0816&uid=320473674

http://www.ascendtech.us/itemdesc.asp?ic=MB4GWAUGSBURG&eq=&Tp

Has four Ram Memory slots.

Uses DDR Sdram ram memory,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Generic_DDR_Memory_%28Xytram%29.jpg

(You can click on the photo to enlarge)

Observe Anti-Static Precautions BEFORE reaching inside the computer. (At the end of this solution I will list this out)
Remove all ram memory modules. (Make a mental note as to which slot they/it were in)

Handle the Ram Memory module by the Body. Refrain from touching the gold plated contact pins.
The body is the rest of the ram memory module minus the contact pins.
The body is coated with a see-through protective plastic.

Use an eraser to clean the contact pins. If you are using a pencil eraser on the end of a pencil, refrain from letting the metal band touch the contact pins.

Rub up, and down on each contact pin. Doesn't take much pressure, or too many strokes.
(This is starting to sound wrong)

Clean the contacts on both sides. When finished use air to remove the eraser dust. If you have a can of compressed air for computers, use it. If not air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.
Reinstall all ram memory modules.

{TIP: If you forget where the ram memory module/s were;
Make SURE there is a ram memory module in Slot 1. (DIMM 1)
This is the ram memory slot that is closest to the Processor.

Note that the Lock on each end of the ram memory slot is White.
If you have another ram memory module, it will go in Slot 3.
This is the other ram memory slot with two White Locks ]

I would also advise using a can or two of compressed air for computers, and clean out the inside of the computer. (Computer unplugged from power, Anti-Static Precautions observed)

[ Anti-Static Precautions:
Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit) the delicate hardware components inside a computer.

Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open;
TOUCH an unpainted surface of the metal frame, of the open computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

If you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again upon your return.
(If your table is on a carpeted floor, refrain from swinging your legs)

How do I open the case on a gateway (GM) MFATXNIN NMZ 300L ?

There's a security screw on the back that needs to be removed to allow the front latch to release the side panel. It's the stupidest most confusing case ever. The latch is very hard to see, it's part of the black plastic in the front, just push down on things until you see one move a bit. It's sort of like a car door handle movement.

How do I get the front cover off a Gateway tower? It is a GP7 800.

you need to provide a serial number of your computer and model. gp7800 does not say much to lookup that information for you.

in general most towers are secured with plastic tabs that are secured to the chasis of your system. what i suggest is for you to open on of the side panels and check at the back of the front panel if there are tabs securing your front panel. you don't want to force the plastic panel or those tabs as you may brake them if you apply to much force, simply move the tab to unsecure it and check all the tabs had been moved to an unlock position before jiggling with the part in order to remove it... you may also want to look if your system has a top pannel to be removed as removing this top pannel may also release other panels and may also provide acess to latches or tabs on the top part of the front panel that may allow you to unsecure these portion.

I've been trying to obtain general information on your system or any other gateway tower for you to have an idea but given how generic and also how propriatery this instructions may be is unlikely a service manual may be accessible.

with more info on your system you may want to inquire with gateway if there's a service manual with schematics by checking with them online. at this location.
