Question about Lexmark E220 Laser Printer

All leds blink on a Lexmark E220

Hi, I have been researching and I found out that the cause of all the flashing lights could be the fuser. I pulled and I noticed that the lamp is good. Termoswitch resistance is almost 0. Thermistor also gives me continuity for each wire. Any idea? How can I check that the thermistor is really working? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I test thermistor as you said and thermistor is ok. When is cold have 215 omhs and when i apply heat, goes to 42... so i think that works propertly. Do you have any idea why all the leds blink? How can i test termoswitch? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I replace de toner cartridge and the blink problem was resolved, but I have a new one. Now, when a print everything, also check print from printer, all the paper is black... do you know why? Thank you very much.

Hi friend. The cartridge is new. Sometimes, all the page is black but not others. I have read that an all black page can be produced by a bad charge roll, what is your opinion? At this moment, the impression is correct but i see some black shadows on one side of paper. I change the position of charge roll and now the shadows are in the other side. So, i think that charge roll is a little broken, is this possible? If you send my and e-mail i can send you an image... thank you very very much.

Thermistors work differently than resistors.

When you apply heat, the resistance goes DOWN. When cold, you should measure high resistance.

Test with a hair dryer.

With the thermoswitch. They are usually just secewed to the base of the fuser. It may be open. You should have continuity through it when it's cool.

If not, throw it down hard on a wood floor, this usually resets the bi-metal elements inside.

I'm sure you have confirmed no jams and not out of toner.

    Good luck.

Panasonic th 42pu30a when i go to turn tv on the light flashes green then no light and no picture just a black screen

The led that is flashing is probably a trouble code indicator. Count how many times it flashes, then research the blink codes for your model and the number of flashes.

Error p1500

The printers first error code show all lights flashing:
Flashing Ready'Data
Flashing Toner Low
Flashing Load'Remove Paper
Flashing Paper Jam
Flashing Error
Flashing Press Continue
By pressing continue twice to get to second error codes the lights show:
Flashing Ready'Data
Off Toner Low
Flashing Load'Remove Paper
Flashing Paper Jam
Flashing Error
Flashing Press Continue
Pressing continue twice more shows:
Off Ready'Data
Flashing Toner Low
Off Load'Remove Paper
Off Paper Jam
Off Error
Off Press Continue
Pressing continue twice more brings back to all lights flashing
The computers ( I have tired more than one with diff USB and A parallel cables) do not see the printer as being attached. My toner is half full. I checked the internal power board in base of printer and the fuse is good. The error should not have anything to do with being connected to a computer or not because when it was working and not connect to a computer it would not blink all the indicator lights (If I remember correctly, just the Press Continue light would be lite).
Information I have found so far:
  1. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/p1500/en/index.htm#online_documentation
o Under PDF Documents Owner's Manual(English) (.pdf) (1.33 MB) shows very little about the indicator lights.
o Under HTML Documents User's Guide shows more information about the indicator lights but mentions nothing about the secondary error codes.
  1. The Lexmark E321/E323/E220 are very close cousins to the P1500 and on Lexmark's website the manuals have more info on secondary codes but nothing that matches my error.
Information I am guessing could be the problem:
  1. The fuser has gone out (need to know how to check) Why else would they sell the fuser if it didn't go out regularly Part Number: 56P1053
  2. Clutch Assembly I'm not sure of the accuracy of the info on this page.

Replaced Aprilia rs50 2006 indicators with LED ones + LED flasher relay though they light up but DON'T FLASH?

I am not a electronic wizz but i believe the led's will light up but do not have enough resistance to cause the internal breakers to work.
I found this.
The post that had the link said that it fixes fast blink and no blink conditions. http://www.greggscustoms.com/instruc...istor_Inst.pdf

New fuser - do I need to reset

If all the leds are fast blinking, you have a fatal error.
Most likely something has been overlooked during re assembly (forgotten connector maybe ?) as there is no need to reset the fuser.

my dad had this happen too. after some research, we found out that there are two capacitors on the power supply board right next to the connector for the main logic board that went bad. you can just pull those out and solder in new ones, and it works like new again! i found a repair kit on ebay for $35 including shipping, and that's all it took!

Found D614, Zener diode, on B+ line was shorted.

3. Set shutdown and the standby LED blinks 3 then 5 times.
Found 200v line was low. Disconnected CN706 on the C Board and found 200v now
present on CN706/pin 7.
Found: IC702 (C board) shorted the 200 volt line.
HQ Comments: C541 on the A Board could become defective if the 200v line is shorted since
the polarity on the capacitor will become reversed. R553 fuse resistor could also be opened
on the A Board.

4. Error code of 4 blinks .
Dead set press power button you hear the relay and you see red led flash 3 times and stops? Has no HV or other action. Tech removed the back as no 200 volt supply, did unplug CN706 and now has 200volts. Tech did remove the IC702 and same it comes up so needs this IC.

Toner light blinks and error light shows

1- you either got a bad toner ( the chip on it is telling it it is bad)

happens sometimes with recycled toners.

Return it and tell them it is defective.

The chip needs to be replaced.

Try this but doubt it will work,

open front door hold down go button, all lights will flash in sequence wait for it to stop turn off and on and close door.

Initializing problem

Possible problems are

1- there is a paper that has not been removed and is sitting on a sensor. ( most likely the fuseropen and loofrom both sides of where the paper is supposed to came out

2-fuser is gone and needs to be replaced

if there are no paper jams, then the most likely thing is the fuser ( where it come out) is not turning on and getting HOT)

replace fuser ( not for the novice) scale of 1-10 this is a 7-8
