Question about Sharp UX B700 Plain Paper Inkjet Fax

1 Answer

I cannot receive faxes, but can send them.

I have changed the ink cartridge, added paper, and checked for paper jam. I still am getting the "FAX RX IN MEMORY" error message.

I tried this multiple times. The LCD display read "DIAG MODE" each time and did nothing from there.

My fax machine states 'fax RX in memory' and does not receive any faxes?

There is a Fax in memory. Either, the machine has a paper jam, is out of paper, or needs the ink cartridge replaced. Fix the above and the fax will print and the machine should work in Fax mode again.

For a unit with paper and no paper jam, try adjusting the paper stack and check if the unit picks up the paper properly. If you have ink in the cartridge, try cleaning the print nozzles and contacts. If a nozzle cleaning from the unit doesn't work, do it manually. Use a damp cloth (lint-free) and wipe in one direction only. Dampen the cloth with bottled or distilled water for best results. See your manual for pictures.

If you need the manual, try the Sharp site or http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sharp-UX-B700-Fax-Machines-manual/id/310bh149/t/2/ .

I hope this helps.

I cannot fax with my Lexmark 2500 after installing Windows 7

Hi there,

If Cannot send or receive Fax :
1) Check the control panel for any blinking lights. If the lights are blinking then
The color print cartridge needs to be replaced soon.

2) Check power.
a) Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, thenfrom the printer.
b) plug the cord all the way into the power supply on the printer.
c) Plug the cord into an eletrical outlet that other electrical devices have been using.

3) Check Cable connections Make sure cable connections for the following hardware are secure, if applicable
* Power supply
*Telephone
*Handset
*Answering machine

4) Verify dial tone.
* Place a test call to the telephone number to which you want to send a fax to make sure that it is working correctly.
*IF the telephne line is being used by another device, wait until the other device is finished before sending the fax.

5) Check for paper jams. Check for and clear any paper jams.

6) Disable Call Waiting Temporily. Call waiting can disrupt fax transmissions. Disable this feature before sending or receiving a fax. Call your telephone company to obtain the keypad sequence for temporarily disabling the call waiting.

1) Load paper. Load paper to print any faxes that have been stored in the computer.
2) Check ink. Check the ink levels, and install a new cartrige of necessary.

Check document placement. Load the original document facedown in the lower right corner of the scanner glass.

On my Canon MX310, the display says "Waiting for Report". Fax Memory is clear, but the In Use/Memory light stays on.

Try this step ... found it on Canon's website

Issue: ERROR LCD: WAITING FOR REPORT
Solution: Set [AUTO PRINT RX] to ON (MX300 / MX310)

AUTO PRINT RX When [AUTO PRINT RX] is set to [OFF], incoming received faxes will be temporarily stored to memory and transaction reports (TX, RX and Activity) remain in memory. The default setting is [ON], which means incoming received faxes and transaction reports will automatically print. The fax machine will not automatically print a received fax and will store it in memory in the following conditions.
  • Ink is low or has run out
  • The paper size and type is not set correctly
  • Paper has run out
  • The Output Tray is closed
To set AUTO PRINT to ON, please follow these steps.
  1. Press the <FAX> button to enter the Fax menu.

  2. Press the <Menu> button. [FAX SETTINGS] is displayed

  3. Press the left or right arrow button to select [RX SETTINGS] , then press <OK> two times.

  4. Press the left arrow to select [ON], then press <OK>.

Note: When AUTO PRINT RX is set ON, a sub-menu will appear to PRINT WHEN NO INK.

  5. At sub-menu PRINT WHEN NO INK, decide if you'd like the machine to continue to print incoming received faxes if ink is low.

CAUTION: When this option is set ON, the fax machine will not monitor the ink level of the ink cartridges. If ink is low or out, received faxes will print with streaks or blank. Furthermore, once the fax is printed, it will be deleted from memory.
    1. To print received faxes when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [ON] and then press <OK>.
    2. To store received faxes in memory when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [OFF] and then press <OK>.

  6. Press the <Stop/Reset> repeatedly to return to Fax standby mode.

Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One - faxes storing instead of printing

When the machine is in one of the following situations, the fax is automatically stored in memory.

- If ink is low or has run out while receiving a fax
- If the paper size/type setting is incorrect
- If the paper has run out while receiving a fax
- If the Output Tray is closed
- If OFF is selected for AUTO PRINT RX
- If you pressed the Stop/Reset button to cancel printing of a fax

The most likely problem is that the ink is low.

You can change the settings to still print if the ink is low by pushing the fax button and then the menu button.

Scroll over until you get to RX settings (I think it is the 6th option) and push OK.

Choose the option to Auto Print RX, and press OK.

Make sure that On is selected and even if it already is the chosen option, press OK.

When the option appears to print with no ink, select yes. This will allow the fax to print even when the ink is low.
