The error can sometimes be cleared by resetting the machine by pulling the plug, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in and powering up. If that doesn't clear the error then that indicates that the fuser rollers are not getting to their correct operating temperature. They should be checked by a Xerox technician and replaced if necessary.

All of the heat errors point to the fuser assembly. To clear the code, try unplugging the machine for 3 minutes and then plugging it back in. The “Open Heat Error” means that the machine was under temperature.

I HAVE A M20 XEROX PRINTER AND I AM GETTING A MESSAGE THAT SAYS OPEN HEATER ERROR WHAT DOES THIS MEAN

The heater rod (quartz lamp) inside the fuser roll is cut/ burned. Unfortunately Xerox will not support it as spare. You should buy a new
fuser.
Replacing it is easy. Just a few screws to take off on the right side plus two electrical plugs.

Need to replace the fuser unit kit in a xerox m20 copy machine

First unplug the machine.
Open the right side door. there are four screws to remove. Unplug the two plugs to it.
Pull out the fuser modual.
Insert the new fuser modual, and release or flip the green jam tabs.
When put on the four screews make sure not to over tighten, just a gentle snug is needed.
Close the door, pug machine, and turn it on.
If the fuser fan is not working, this can cause the fuser to over heat again. Make sure the fan is truning by viewing it from the back.
Good luck.

Error message Xerox Phaser 8400 07.010.43.4819

The post was a little confusing. You have an 8400, correct? (not an M20)

The 07,010 error is normally a bad process motor 401-1000-80

You should also change 2 camshafts at the same time 401-1003-80 and 384-1874-80. The whole job is medium difficult and takes 2-3 hours.

FAX ERROR MESSAGE

It sounds like the fuser rollers are not at the proper temperature to work.

They should be inspected by a technician.
