That happened to my mom's phone too
we both have LG scoops/rumors and that are simply ridiuculous and peices of ****.
I'm not even kidding when I say I've been through at least 7 scoops in the past year.
What you can do is take it to an alltel store and they can replace it for you, but I would REALLY recommend getting a new phone.
Unfortunately, I'm stuck with my alltel contract to have an LG scoop for another year and it's horrible. My current phone that I just got about 2 weeks ago already stopped working. Get out while you can.
Simple solution, Alltel belives and enforces digital copyright management, while you can listen to your favorite tones and music, you will NOT be able to use them as ringtones, or use them with any of the features of the phone other then playing the tunes for entertainment. The only way to use files as ringtones is to purchase the files from alltel, or use their realtone jukebox, etc.
call alltel customer service from a phone other than the wireless device experiencing the trouble and they will reset the phone and networking and this feature should work fine after then!! the number is 1-800-ALLTEL-1
just choose the Tech support option and listen to the computer talk for a while, then select to speak with a representative
