Hampton Bay Kemper running Half Speed & Half As Bright

After a year and a half, my Hampton Bay 52" Kemper is now (and suddenly) only running at half speed and half as bright as before. I checked voltage, bulbs, and wire connections - all look good. Home Depot won't accept a return after 90 days, and want me to contact the manufacturer for assistance. I can't find the owner's manual for a number. Am I dealing with a motor issue, a capacitor issue, etc.?

My hampton bay fan began running at full speed on all three fan positions a few weeks ago. I replaced the switch, which did not work. I noticed that the small black box (capacitor) inside the recess behind the light cover has a large bulge that has cracked the plastic. The part number (C61 E185116) does not reveal any websites that can offer a replacement, and hamtonbay.com redirects to homedepot.com. This fan is apparently made by home depot, and it is not backed in the same manner as Hunter fans are (I received a free replacement part for a Hunter about five years after purchase). From this experience and what I have read in this forum, I have learned to avoid the hampton bay fans. It is too difficult to find a part when there is no real manufacturer to contact for assistance.

The motor on my fan seems to be laboring. It won't even start when it is on low speed. Medium speed is slower than it used to be. The fan is about 2 years old. Is there a way to lubricate it or is...

The regulator could be faulty. To check remove the two wires from the regulator and join them. If the fan runs full speed then the regulator is at fault. If not then probably what you think. But fans generally do not need to be lubricated for decades. So, I feel it is the regulator.

Press the yellow button on the remote, do not release. You will notice that lights will go from bright to dim and vice versa. Remote shows percentage of light on the LCD (display). Good luck!

Ceiling fan is controlled by dimmer

Yes, if the hot wire going up to the fan is coming off the dimmer, it is reduced voltage and will slow down. There maybe a separate hot from another switch??

I have the Hampton Bay 5-Light Track Lighting

Skill, patience, preseverance, and experience. You ned to cut and strip the wires so they "just fit" into the space provided leading to the connectyion screws. no room for stuffing , and no extra wiggle room for and bends or kinks .. You mightb try mounting the wires and then pushing the extra wire back up intio the ceiling junction box, thats what I do.

Hampton Bay 52 In. Clarington. How do I reverse the fan?

Try these two: 1) look for a small switch up near the light area on the dark-colored area of the fan. If a switch is there, then simply flip the switch to the other position; 2) if you have a remote control for the fan, the reverse mode may appear on the remote control. Hope this helps.
