PRORWW.cab problem Installing MS Office 2007

Installing MS Office 2007. Half way through, it stops the installation and calls for prorww.cab. When I point it to the location, it keeps coming back with the same message. I have seen this problem documented on this website, but no solution so far.
Any ideas?

This is an original store bought version useful for 3 machines. First machine installed without a hitch. This one had prior version of MS Office 2007 that was removed. Stops with the error message listed above.

Will try and report back what happened.

Tried the disk cleanup route. No Office Setup Files, so we deleted the Setup Files. Now when MS 2007 disk is put in, we get the following error:

E:|Pror.ww\OSETUP.DLL digital signature does not validate or is not present.

    Solution!
The deletion of all setup files during disk cleanup apparently upset the original Disk 1 of Microsoft Office 2007. No idea why, but its related to all of this prorww stuff. So, on a whim, I put Disk 2 of MS Office 2007 in the drive and attempted to install whatever was on there - Accounting 2008. It worked and paved the way for Disk 1. Put Disk 1 and the install completed in a minute or 2. Which means that the first install that failed actually did a partial install. Install went smoothly - MS Office 2007 is up and running. I was unable to find even a reference for prorww on MS's website. How disappointing.
    Thank you for your help.

    then try this:

    1. Click Start

    3. Select Accessories
    4. Select System Tools
    5. Click Disk Cleanup
    6. Disk Cleanup will do its calculations
    7. From the Drives list in the Select Drive dialog box, select the hard drive that contains the Msocache folder
    8. More calculations...
    9. Select the Office Setup Files checkbox in the Files to Delete list
    10. Click OK.
    11. When you are asked Are you sure you want to delete these files? select Yes

    1. Delete all files (at least ones not currently in use) from c:\documents and settings\username\local settings\temp.
    2. Delete files ending in .lck from the following folder: c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\microsoft help\

    or you can do that:

    1. Copy the whole installation directory on your hard disk (in my example: D:\Visio 2007\OFFICE12\
    2. Try to locate the OSETUP.DLL from another software on your CD (in my example I used the one from D:\Project Pro 2007\OFFICE12\PRJPROR\OSETUP.DLL
    3. Copy the OSETUP.DLL and replace it with your broken OSETUP.DLL on your hard disk.
    4. Give it a try, on my Windows Vista Business machine it worked!

I believe the reason that you are getting the missing .dll error is because the files on the install disk are compressed and windows cannot read it. Computers or DVD/CD players for that matter cannot read most ISO/compressed files. So extract the files and install

Attempting to install microsoft office professional and during installation the program say that it cannot find pror.WW/prorWW.cab browse to a valid installation source.

Try Manually installing the software. copy the content of the disc on to an empty folder then run the installer from that folder. usually this problem is caused by a damaged disc or the disc reader is having a hard time reading the disc.
