SOURCE: powerhead on rainbow not working

If the motor is NOT running - press the red button on the nozzle (assuming you have the model with the button on the nozzle)
If it stops working as soon as you release the button - you need a new circuit breaker. If Motor in the nozzle works but brush does not spin - you have to replace the belt.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I don't know how to take apart me Rainbow e2 series vac.

I recently took mine apart because the motor stopped working. Realized the brushes were pretty well worn down and one side was completely gone. I was looking on the internet for detailed instructions on how to take it apart. I ended up just ripping it apart with no problems but made a tutorial to help you guys out. Here's a link to it

This is for the e-series vaccum, not the e2 but they pretty much have the same design and same motor (e2 has a 2 stage motor).

Rainbow e2 type 12 120v , accidentally plugged into 220v, would barely power up, possibly controller board defective?

probably need both as the extra 100 volts would burn the board and the motor
it is never advisable to buy electric equipment from another country because of the voltage differences but even then the plugs are made different so that the cord will not plug directly into the power outlet.

Rainbow e2 system. Will not power up

the water basin has a safety on it so the unit cannot run without it. if you look on the bottom of the rainbow you can see a small oval shaped space that you can depress just to test and see if it still runs it will only run with this depressed.

Sounds like the motor is going bad and will eventually not start. I am in the process of changing the motor in mine too and they are not cheap. just search around for a motor
