In the first place you need to find out if you are using the right power supply.

I have a crosley shelvador fridge. the original power cord melted. i replaced the cord and all the wiring...not operating anymore. i have looked everywhere for the model and serial # but cant find it.

Why did the cord melt has to be a serious electrical issue like a frozen refrigerant pump motor, that means the fridge is done and should be replaced. If you wan to repair it contact a local appliance repair shop that sells used/rebuild fridges and has scraped parts, you may be able to find used parts for it.

Turn signal not working, dash signal lite staying on

If bulb or socket melted then replace socket. May be OEM part not sure. Easy fix just be sure to use seal type crimp connectors or you will be working on this a year later.

REPLACEMENT PART

If you're referring to the power cord (the part that you also plug into an AC socket), for desktop computers they are cheap to get just about anywhere. For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Ft-3-Prong-Trapezoid-Computer-Power-Cord-Universal-PC-Cable-Standard-Wire-353-/251053570306?pt=US_Power_Cables_Connectors&hash=item3a73f57902

If you're referring to INSIDE the computer, well, that's a different story- you're better off in those cases replacing the Power Supply. ;-) (or whatever the Power Supply is attached to is failing).

Need to order a new plug in cord

If you are referring to the power cord, you can get them at radio shack or any electronics parts supplier. Ebay is also another alternative

Hi behind my new lcd where the power cable is the plastic as melted was shold i do?

LG TVs seem to have a problem with easily loose power cords. A loose cord probably led to an electrical arc, which is probably why you have melted plastic. Plug in the cord tightly into the TV and see if it'll turn on. If if works properly, you can use it as is; just find a way to make sure that the plug doesn't have any strain. What we did was tie the cord to the back of the TV about a foot away from plug; this way, when the power cord gets pulled, when force is resisted by the tie and not the plug itself. If there is significant damage to the cord, you'll want to remove the screws on the back, take out the back cover and replace the whatever damaged parts you find.

Replace a melted Duralit toaster cord that melted from it touching my toaster oven. Need to replace the whole cord. Thanks, Shelley

cut the bad part off the ac cord then use "****" conector to crimp on a new cord. make sure and note the stripe on the cord and that indicates the neutral wire. the stripe is on the outside of the cord on one of the sides. the stripe is molded on to the outside of the wire on one side only

The elec plug wire going into the back of the heater, one side of it melted i replaced the melted part, it only lasted a few days, could you tell me what i need to replace-thank you

If the wires to this unit keep melting then you are drawing way to many amps than the cord is rated for. there must be some other issue if you keep melting wires. I would not use this till it is checked out to make sure there are no shorts in the unit itself. This will lead to a fire if not done correctly. If the cord needs replaced then replace it with at least a size 12 or better yet a #10 wire, this will provide more than enough current capacity. Have you contacted the manufature for advise?

Kenmore series 80 power cord melted

This is extremely distressing to me. If someone advised you to jump acoss (bypass) the thermal fuse on the dryer then I am in disagreement. My advise is to trip the breaker at the house power center, remove and replace the dryer main power cord, and replace the thermal fuse. Something is causing the dryer to pull more amperage than it should be, which is what resulted in the melted cord to begin with. You may want to contact a qualified appliance technician to assist in throughly checking the electrical system on the dryer. Until this condition is properly addressed there is a very real safety issue. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Toro blower model 51591 electrical prong melted. help!

The answer is wrong. This model and other Toro blowers with the plug built into the body (as opposed to the new design with plug on cord) has this problem when the plug does not completely mate with the cord. This happened to mine too. Unfortunately Toro does not provide a replacement part. HOwever, perhaps the new designed cord will fit as a replacement, but I am unsure of this. When my plug melts completely I will try that.

Multiple electrical problems

The headlight plugs melting, I had this problem on one side. I found that the connector parts needed to be cleaned, with any abrasive object you can fit in there. after scraping the surfaces I used pipecleaner with rubbing alcohol, and also mineral spirits.
This works if you have enough of the plug plastic left to hold the connector parts. I then plugged it back in and had good contact. To guard against the environment, I squeezed some Goop around the plug.
The melting happens because the connector has a poor contact and therefore creates a resistance to the flow of electricity, resulting in heat...and melting. Replacement of plug is great, but no auto store I called had this plug on the shelf.
The speedometer cable on these cars are just not good.
