When I engage PTO or clutch on my 6120 John Deere a flashing warning light beeps and flashes then stops. What's going on?

Not sure about the clutch.

If PTO continues to operate then it's warning that PTO speed exceeded 620 rpm.

If PTO shuts off, then its an operator not in seat detected.

Clutch may also be seat related.

See your owners manual for a comprehensive guide to PTO operation, warnings, etc. Manuals are available, free download in pdf format. See following link.

You might try diag mode and see if any stored codes. See manual.

John deere 6310 pto does not come on but i light keeps flashing even if its disengaged

Flashing pto light is an indication that there is a issue with pto. Low hydraulic fluid or a bad sensor.

8130 John Deere pto code 1883.01

Rear PTO Underspeed. Make sure correct shaft is installed. Restart vehicle and select proper PTO engagement rate in the CommandCenter. If code returns, have your John Deere dealer repair as soon as possible.

Last website shows to me what appears to be a sensor just to the right of the icon A pointer, identifying the snap ring, in the top right photo. http://manuals.deere.com/omview/OMAR259982_19/gif/RW55322A.gif

Best of luck.

I have a john deere 420 that the pto will not engage. I do have power at the switch

You are going to need to Google John Deere 420 wiring diagram. There is a 30 amp fuse in the PTO power circuit. This provides the power to the Time Delay Control Module which has the solenoid in it. Any chance you can here the slonoid click? There, is a safety interlock switch on the seat. And everything goes to a common ground lug that may be corroded or loose. If the PTO light comes on but dim, then start with the ground. Quite a lot in this circuit.

Jon Deere mower LX277 won't crank

Try replacing the starter solenoid. If that doesn't do it, try replacing the whole starter.

Intermittent PTO Problem on John Deer 6400

You likely need the speed sensor replaced in the rear of the tractor, either above or below the pto shaft. There is also a pto relay module beside the fuse panel that may need to be replace(only on the early 6000 series tractors, later it was replaced by the bcu).If you can get the codes from the bcu and relay the info to me i can likely tell you for sure what you need to do if none of the above works.
