Question about Westinghouse Televison & Video
Westing house lvm-37w1 all we can get to come on is the stand by light its somtimes purple or amber one time it actually turned blue but no sound or picture
The TV is on protect mode because an internal fault had been detected.
The first thing to do is leaving the unit unplugged from main for about one hour, this will drain power completely and can fix minor problems.
The standby light changing color is not a fault code, but it may suggest that the fault concerns the LCD CONTROLLER that is the main control board inside the TV.
Before replacing the mainboard the POWER SUPPLY
must be tested reading Voltage out on all outputs.
I think that the inverter on this unit is integrated in the PSU, the inverter section must also be tested.
All points where you may get a contact or a short must be tested.
Also solder joint and components on all board must be tested.
A shorted button switch on a faulty KEY CONTROLLER BOARD can cause protect mode.
The test and repair must be done by a an expert repairer.
Parts can be ordered online here: LVM-37W1.

Here are the possible cause(s) of the problem, it could even be the panel itself. this is the screen you look at. if
so it cannot be fixed. it also could be the power supply or a buffer
module. a cost of repair on these is around $650. you really should
have a repairman look at it to be sure. Or I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer if the flat paner TV is still under the warranty period.
Hope this helps and have a great day!
