Look at the dongle. if it has a USB connector, look on your computer - laptop; USB ports are along the edges - desktop; if there are no USB ports on the front of the tower, you'll have to look at the back of the tower to find them. Plug the dongle in and go from there. Good Luck!

I have a Phillips Freevemts PC, that came with a wireless keyboard, mouse and dongle. The dongle no longer works, can I get a replacement?

The dongle probably has an USB connector. It is very common for
the connector to become bent, after numerous plugging and
unplugging, causing a solder disconnect between it and the
PCB board inside the dongle. Someone with the know-how
in soldering can help you resolder it, then it will be good as
new. Sorry, but such dongles are not for sale separately from
a keyboard and mouse combo.

My computer will not boot up with the Grandtec Keyboard 2500 dongle in the USB port. Once it boots up, I insert the dongle and it works fine. I had this problem with the Vista OS and now with the newly...

This sounds like a driver issue .... after plugging in the USB dongle, go to the Control Panel>System and Security>System and select Device manager. After Device Manager opens up you should see "Keyboards". toggle open the triangle, to the left of the word "keyboards", and you should see the 2500 listed. If not, right click on the keyboard listed and select update driver software. Then select "Search automatically for the updated driver software". If a new driver is found, it will ask you if you want to use it. If not, try uninstalling the driver that is there and re-booting your computer. Then when you plug in the USB dongle it should automatically install the needed driver.

How do you connect sony vaio wireless keyboard to main unit

Wireless keyboards have two components, the dongle and the keyboard unit itself. Try this:

1. Make sure your keyboard has working batteries
2. Plug in the USB dongle onto a slot in your computer
3. Click on the Connect button on both th dongle and the keyboard.

Wireless keyboard & mouse will not connect

Then your problem is most likely driver-related. The chances are nill that both mouse AND keyboard are defective. Looks like it is down to one of two scenarios. Either the driver is incorrect or corrupt, or the dongle itself is malfunctioning. The driver would be first choice since it would be a free fix to rule out.

try uninstalling the driver first, then reboot. Next go to mfg website for the keyboard/mouse/dongle and download a fresh driver. Then reboot. Note that preferably, the correct protocol would be to install the driver first, before plugging in the dongle. Hope this helps. One question I can think of regarding the dongle is whether or not the dongle lights up when plugged in - some do. If yours is supposed to but does not, it could be the dongle itself. The bottom line now is between the dongle and a driver really. I'd be willing to bet the mouse and keyboard are just fine they just can't interface because the dongle is the gateway and you know the rest...good luck.

Hi.
Before starting, make sure the keyboard and mouse are ON and with batteries.

Whit the PC already ON:
* The first step is to plug in the USB Bluetooth adaptor.
* Once the Bluetooth adaptor is inserted, allow Windows to install the drivers.
* Once Windows gives it the OK, the USB dongle should have a light or even a button. (If you don’t see a button the "yellow" light is the button).
* Press the USB dongle button....this will tell the dongle to start looking for a Keyboard or mouse.
* On the underside of the mouse (and keyboard) should be a a small button.
* Press the button(s) for ~5 seconds, then release.. this tells teh keyboard (or mouse) to look for a dongle.

This should show a connection between the dongle and the keyboard (or mouse).

Or
With the PC Off:
* Just connect the dongle
* Do the button sequence as described above, unit the dongle light goes “solid” again.
* Start the PC and keyboard and mouse should work perfectly.

Cheers,
Ed

My cordless mouse is not working

Check to see if the dongle is plugged in. It may help to switch the port the dongle is plugged into so windows finds it again. Some cordless mice need to be reconnected push the connect button on the dongle then the connect button on your mouse.
