Hello Rick,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

How msny cubic ft. is my 106.9750610 Kenmore refrigerator?

I tried downloading a manual for your Kenmore Top-mount refrigerator-freezer but it is no-longer available. the next best way is to measure the inside dimensions of your refrigerator. Measure the depth, height and width in inches. Times them together and divide by 1728.

example: if your inside of your refigerator is 30 inches wide by 20 inched deep by 50 inches tall you get 30 x 50 x 20 = 30000 cuin / 1728 = 17.36 cuft. Do the freezer section seperate to know thier individual measurements and add them together to get the total. I hope this helps. - subdriver

Kitchen Aid KTRC22EK leak inside refridgerator

It sounds like the drain for the defrost water is pluged. You can remove the back panel inside the freezer(ice maker will have to coe out first) and access the drain in the rear center of the freezer. Check the drain. It can be defrsted with a hair dryer(shut off the referigerator first) good luck, snugglepants

Refigerator temp is rising Lower freezer compartment seems to be fine

Check rear wall of freezer by feel for frost. Frost indicates likely problem in the defrost system. Defrost heater (in freezer), defrost thermostat (in freezer) or 1 of Defrost timer or Defrost control (Circuit board) generally located in Refrigerator compartment but may be inside rear of outer case.

During the defrost cycle heaters inside the walls of the freezer turn on to melt the frost. The melted frost "water" is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it will evaporate. I think the drain line from the freezer to this pan may be blocked. I'd also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it lets a lot of moisture into the freezer which means more water during the defrost cycle. I'd also recommend checking to make sure the ice maker is not leaking.

Refigerator not cooling and hot to the touch

It sounds a lot like lost charge caused by a leak in your system. If your unit has been moved or improperly cleaned, some part of the pressurized system may be damaged.
Refrigerant (with very small molecules) may leak off over many years but it shouldn't happen in the single digits.

Kenmore top freezer leaking water on the inside when defrosting

MAKE SURE THE FAN IN REAR OF FREEZER COMPARTMENT IS RUNNING , SOME TIME YOU MUST DEPRESS THE DOOR SWITCH ON THE FREEZER DOOR TO WATCH FAN IF NOT REPLACE FAN , NOT BAD MOST UNPLUG , IF THIS IS NOT IT YOU COULD HAVE A INTERMITTENT DEFROST TIMER OR A BAD DEFROST HEATER
