only some model and brand has an audio output. you can hooked up at the earphone jack of the tv to get audio out.just used a mini earphone plug with output stereo rca plug.
The set you are talking about I am unfamiliar with .. however as an engineer for 23 years I am sure it is not unlike any other CRT TV as you say you have no voltage on the rgb is the tube heater on ( you should see a glow at the end of the tube ) if not check you heater rail voltage , check your oscilator Ht output transistor should be 300 to 360 volts on the emitter if this goes down then the lineoutput satge will not opperate hence no picture and in many cases the audio is fed from the secondry of the Line output transformer hence no sound either .. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD TECHNICAL TRAINING VOLTAGES HERE ARE IN EXCESS OF 19 KV to 25,000 Volts DEPENDING ON TUBE SIZE AND SHOULD NEVER BE ATTEMPTED BY UNTRAINED PERSONEL... I'm having the same issue with this TV! From the top of the screen to
about two/three inches below there are thousands of horizontal lines with a
whitish tinge which seem to be reflecting what is just below these lines! I’ve
never seen this issue on any TV ever! From what I am seeing now is that many
people are having this issue and more! We should put a class action lawsuit
against them! If anyone knows anything, please post the info. Many tech forums
are loaded with issues for these TV’s but this issue seems to be prominent!
My mom had two Phillips TV’s; one just under two years, and the other
just under a year and Phillips refused to fix either without a large expenditure
on her behalf. She told me never to buy Phillips and I should have listened. Phillips
used to be a great company so I don’t really know what has happened? This was a
TV for my Grandmother and it wasn't at a bad price not to mention the picture
was great albeit severely over scanned.
As for her TV, we had it about two weeks over a year and Phillips said there
was nothing they could do! They said they would pay for the cost to replace the
tube if I took it to one of their dealers but they said the cost to bring it there
and repair would fall on me! Also if the issue was not related to the tube I
would have to pay everything OOP! The lady laughed on the phone and said even
if it had been under six months or under a year they would still only pay to
fix the parts and everything else would cost me! WTF?
The moral of the story is NEVER BUY PHILLPS/MAGNOVOX EVER! You might be
getting the TV deal of the century but it is not worth it in the long run. I originally
thought my mom was nuts, but now looking back considering the issues others are
having, and realizing the **** poor way Phillips support deals with ALL
problems, they’re simply not worth the money or trouble. I WILL NEVER buy another
Phillips, Magnavox, or Funai product ever again, whether it is a TV, clock, DVD
player, and/or ANY electronic device! If you do you HAVE BEEN WARNED and WILL
BE SORRY!
The first thing I would check is the line output transistor this is the large transistor mount on the heat sink next to the lineoutput transformer (the big black thing with the lead going to the side of the tube) just replace it if you have no meter to check it.
Does your TV support "Line In" or "Aux" or "External"? if so plug your "Low end" DVD directly into the back of the tv and verify that you Can get audio. Quite a few DVD players do have a mute feature. Be sure this is turned "off"...accordianman
your vertical output has collapsed. The vertical output ic is probably not working .It has to be replaced, and maybe some of the circuity surrounding it.I assume you have sound?
If it is a horizontal line is straite or zig zag, if it is straite then problem in your vertical section, please check the supply of vertical section or output ic of vertical, if it is zig zag line then it could be dry solder in the yoke connector or vertical yoke open, please let me know the vertical ic no.
