SOURCE: DACOR DOWNDRAFT RV36B PROBLEM

when just the high and low lights are lit, the unit is in childproof mode. try holding down the high and low buttons at the same time until they go out. then if they do, check the response of the other buttons. If this dosen't help, there are really only 2 other options. Most often we see the control board go bad on these (located behind an access panel in the lower right hand corner of the unit below the counter) or the button pad contacts wear out. If the only button that doesn't respond is the up down button, and all the other buttons work fairly easily once its up..then you probably have a bad button pad. If the thing does all sorts of weird things and seem to have a mind of its own, probably a bad control board. the control boards on these fail so often, they re-designed the board to prevent further failures. The button pad is easier to replace and cheaper, so if you have to guess go with that first. good luck!

Whirlpool SC8720EDB cooktop stove independent vent switch is not starting downdraft exhaust fan, but the exhaust fan works fine when left side burners were turned on

Can you get to the switch terminals and try jumping them out with a piece of insulated wire? That would tell you if the switch is defective (my suspicion). Please be careful not to touch any live terminals - only the wire insulation you use for the jumper.

I used my grill for the first time, & the downdraft didn't work we'll, the house filled with smoke & eventually the downdraft shut off and I had to finish cooking in a pan. My Jenn-Air is...

The downdraft is electric so there must be something malfunctioning with it. It is a high volume downdraft fan that is to be vented to the outside. Could it be that something has clogged the vent hole up, not allowing the fan to evacuate the smoke?

While I am not a big fan of Jenn-Air, their fans are usually high quality if they are installed correctly, with the proper vent lines.

Is there a vent cover for the downdraft vent. The

not that I know of but the fans on these ranges usually have multiple speeds. Try using the lowest. The fans are very strong on them. Hope this helps. good luck.

New Dacor Vent does not work

Hi, we have a Dacor RV 30 (I think) and twice I have had the unit go up and down endlessly until I turn the breaker off. The problem was water getting inside the switch. The first time, I got a real Dacor replacement ($80?) the next time, I got the part number off the switch, googled it and got two of them for about $4 each plus shipping.

Our Dacor Millennia wall oven will not heat

There is a manual reset button behind the vent under the touch pad. Turn off the power. Open the door. Remove the vent. Behind the latch is a two wire switch. press the red button on it until it clicks. reassemble and turn on power. It over heated when the power went off by stopping the cooling fan.
