Will not turn off
SOURCE: DACOR DOWNDRAFT RV36B PROBLEM
when just the high and low lights are lit, the unit is in childproof mode. try holding down the high and low buttons at the same time until they go out. then if they do, check the response of the other buttons. If this dosen't help, there are really only 2 other options. Most often we see the control board go bad on these (located behind an access panel in the lower right hand corner of the unit below the counter) or the button pad contacts wear out. If the only button that doesn't respond is the up down button, and all the other buttons work fairly easily once its up..then you probably have a bad button pad. If the thing does all sorts of weird things and seem to have a mind of its own, probably a bad control board. the control boards on these fail so often, they re-designed the board to prevent further failures. The button pad is easier to replace and cheaper, so if you have to guess go with that first. good luck!
