Go to www.filehippo.com

Download Picasa 3

Install it on your PC and let it do a catalouge of your images

It normally sorts out any format issues itself

It also allows you to edit images and print them ect

If the pictures you wish to copy to PC are stored on a
memory card, insert the card into the camera
(pg. 11). If no card is inserted, pictures will be
copied from internal camera memory.

Caution
Loss of power during transfer could result in loss of
data or damage to internal memory or the memory
card. Charge the battery before connecting the
camera.

Turn the camera off and connect the supplied
USB cable as shown, making sure the connectors
are fully inserted. Connect the camera directly
to the computer; do not use a USB hub
or keyboard.

Press the a button for about a second to turn
the camera on. FinePixViewer will start automatically
and the “Save Image Wizard” will be
displayed. Follow the on-screen instructions
to copy pictures to the computer. To exit without
copying pictures, click Cancel.

Try using filescavenger to recover pictures from the camera or its memory card. don't take new pictures untill you have saved your files.

other option would be to take the camera or the memory card to a local camera shop and see if they can recover the pictures for you. Or a data recovery company.

    Alright lets try this instead

open my computer or "computer" from your desktop or from start menu, plug in your camera and double click on the new drive that appears, inside you may find a few folders and eventually you will find all the pictures inside the camera.

I got the impression from your message that the pictures where completely lost and in that case you would need a data recovery software, I suppose that is not the case here.
