MCP61PM-AM v1.0 beeps 5 times, silence the...

I am having the same problem as the poster. Basically I wastrying to connect my old hdd so I could copy some files and I don'tknow if it wasn't seated properly or what but it did not displayanything. I then powered down the computer and finally got theHDD connected to the IDE cable but when I went to turn the computerback on beep codes come on...

I remove the hdd still beeps.. I removed the ram, powered the computeron and same 5 beeps followed by silence then infinate beeping. Ihave no idea what is wrong. Only conclusion I can come is maybe the MBis toast. there was no smoke, smell of anything frying.. anyideas are greatly appreciated.. ps i've already looked at the 2solutions provided from the other posters and haven't found the answerI need to resolve this.
