Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

Dell 926 will not print black and gives alignment error

Printer gives "alignment" problems, tells me to "remove tape and try again" - color prints but black does not even though black ink cartridge is still half full... ?????

Has this printer been sitting for a period of time? Inkjet nozzles will dry up...replace the cartidge, even tho it may be half full, it prolly has dried out

I was having a similar problem and one of the recommendation was using RegCure. Now they will want you to buy it and if you don't then it will not fix anything. Download it, run it and go to buy it and there should be something that says if you don't want to buy it then try one of the sponsors. I went through everything and found this survey (ZoomPanel) site that I signed up for, only thing I think that was free, and after that I got the RegCure for free. I also opened a email acct at hotmail so I send everything there. Anyway, it did get rid of that error message but now I have a problem that the printer is not communicating with the computer so I have to figure that out. I am adding 2 website for the RegCure for you to check out, so hopefully that will help. Do not sign up for ZoomPanel at their website, search for it on RegCure, and open another email acct, hotmail is good, otherwise you will get tons of junk mail. Good Luck, I hate not having a working printer and I think I am starting to hate Dell! Here are the websites for RegCure:

I ran out of ink and replaced my cartridges. When I tried printing the alignment, it printed the alignment, then gave me the error message of ERROR 2200 and also says "Alignment problem. Remove tape...


Try cleaning the Gold section of the cartridges with a wet paper towel.

Unplug the printer and clean the gold contacts on the printer where the cartridge meets up to the printer with a wet paper towel. Do this till the towels come back clean.

Dry both the contacts on printer and cartridges.

Allow at least 30 mins for the printer to dry.

Plug the printer back in and reinstall the cartridges.

Align the cartridges,

Make sure you've removed the shipping tape from the cartridge's print head. More than likely the black cartridge is not disbursing ink - clean the print head carefully with "Q" tip and alcohol and see if black ink comes out slightly. Re-insert cartridge and try again. Perform "clean cartridge" in printer properties window.

Before you serve it with .45 I'd like to suggest that in any case if you are having an old black cartridge then put it inside the chamber and shoot your print command to your printer. I'm sure it will solve your alignment problem. Later, open any coloured doc, hit ctrl plus P and go to option menu search for grayscale and select it. If you will shoot your command at this appropriate time It will deffinetly work. If its not working you are most welcome to comment back I've one more solution left for you.

Dell 926 won't recognize new color cartridge


Try this...shut down the printer. Insert new cartridge, let the printer cycle out with new cartridge. then reboot the computer. This should solve the problem. The cache in the printer will not cycle out. It wants to see the printer as a new entity

Black type doesn't print; everything I know hasn't helped

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. The problem has been taken care of. 1. The black cartridge was evidently dried up somehow. 2. The installation of the software (drivers & repair) (blue tooth or whatever) has completely fixed the problem. So whatever it was I paid for and downloaded at your suggestion (my ignorance of the jargon is minimal). However, what counts most: with your help, everything is operating and working as it should. go into control panal select printer, than high light the printer you want,than go down to printing preferance and go to maintance and select the one that fits you best needs.

I had this problem before as well. I took my ink into the refill store and she steamed it for me and cleaned it up. It then worked great. It had dried ink and wasn't printing proper.

Printing alignment problem


First thing to try is to remove the power brick (not just the cord the whole brick) from printer for a minute then re insert and try it again. If this doesn't help try uninstalling it then re installing the printer
