Paging through loudspeaker paging and group page on a definity system at the same time

I have an Avaya PBX v12 - I want to be able to open the speakers on my 6400 sets at the same time as I activate overhead paging. My paging is currently configured with one zone on an Aux Trunk board

We have group paging option for the office, however on several of the 5420 units we cannot hear paging when it's announced on the main phone unit. How can we fix it?

Are you paging the phones, or overhead speakers?
A few things might be...the 5420 phones might not be in the paging group, so look in your hunt groups.

The speakers might also be turned down, so press speaker, then press the up arrow for louder volume.

I need to know how to page another extension. Our Avaya phones do not have the intercom button. I thought there should be a function code to program a button for Intercom, but I'm not finding it. I need to...

There are 2 buttons right below Line 1 and Line 2. Those are both intercoms.

When paging a phone, you just insert a * (star) before the extension number.

SO, Intercom*11, will page extension 11

To program on a button, feature 00, press the button you want to program, then press the left intercom and *xx (where xx is the extension number)

As far as paging all the phones, you will need to have them in a calling group (1-4), hten you can page the group to page them all.

I have an Avaya system. I can page an individual room but when I try a page to all telephones using *71. And it doesn't work. Any suggestions. Also I have a low battery warning where is the battery...

The battery is on the processor. The center card of your system, you will see the battery compartment that houses 2 AAA batteries.

You may not have the phones all in group 1, so your paging of "simultaneous" (*71) wont page the group 1 (the 1 of 71)

You will need to program the phones you want to be in that group in calling group of programming (#502, group 1, assign all phones to the group)

What does a G in the top right of the display mean

It means nothing to you. It just means that you are in a group. It could be an operator group or a paging group. No need to worry about it. The only way to get rid of it is to remove yourself from the group.

We can hear paging through some of our Avaya phones but not though others. Can anyone advise why and how to resolve?

sounds like some of the phones are not in the paging group.
Changing the programming on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11. At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
next press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming2.gif
enter in "#502"
the display should say Calling Group Group:
press 1 the display will then ask for an extension.
enter in one of the extensions that isn't in the page group
the display will say 2 unassigned
press 1 to change to assigned
repeat the instructions for enter #502 for the next set/s
feature "00" to logout

Programming Page Button

You could look in the station user's guide and program paging. This may work, or not, if you're paging internal and outside do this:
From your phone press Feature 00 the button and then Intercom *70.

If you don't want all the idle phones in group 1, but just the outside speaker, press 70 alone.

I'm not positive, but you may have to delete the button in centralized programming if it is already assigned a "CO" line.
Centralized programming is done from extension 10 or 11 and involves the system manual and knowing where the overlay buttons are.

Post back if you need a basic Partner ACS manual or try for system manuals.

Intercom paging not working on avaya partner phone

Are you paging the overhead speakers, or paging the speakers on the phones?

158d system

The paging connects to one of the line ports on the system. Its needs to be specified in system programming which line you will be using. When you login to System programmiing (feature-0-0-left intercom--left intercom) you can go to Loudspeaker Paging Line #617, then select an unused (available) line. (feature-0-0) to save. Then go to the system and the port of the line you selected is where you will connect the signal leads to the paging horn. Then use Intercom *70 to page or program a paging button
