To erase the memory press and hold the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit for 10 seconds. This will stop any remote or keypad from opening your door. To program it press and hold the button on your remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Do this for each remote you have.

I don't know if your model is exactly like mine but on the opener itself you should have a learn button. It could be green, red, orange, blue and you might even have to remove a light cover to access it. Mine is on the rear of the unit along with all the up and down adjustments. On my opener it has the directions on how to program the units together but you either press and hold the button on the opener then press and hold the button on the transmitter then the openers light will flash and when it does you release both buttons. I know on other models such as my moms you just have to press the button once on the opener and then on the transmitter you press and hold the button until the light on the opener flashes and you hear a clicking noise , then you release the transmitter button and that's it. Give it a try and hope this was a little helpful to you!

I have model 1160 with a yellow smart button. Depressing and holding the button down does not erase the memory. What did work was unplugging the receiver for a couple of hours. When I reconnected power the light bulbs came on. I operated my remote and the door opened. I then operated the wired wall console until the llight bulbs went off. (May just be that 30 seconds elapsed and the receiver exited learn mode). Door no longer has problem that it opens when a neighbour uses his remote.

The frequency of the garage door opener is the same as the one down the street. Is there a way to change frequency on the Lift-Master Professtional Line Garage Door opener?

This appears to be your problem.Your door sometimes is opening unexpectedly and inadvertently when a seen or unseen neighbor uses his or herremote door opener; or a neighbor wonders why his/her own door always seems to open shortly after you drive by; and you wonder if her and your remotes should not be transmitting each at its own unique frequency level. Or in the worst case, someone, possibly a prankster, possibly someone more nefarious, is driving through neighborhoods punching a remote to see if any garages respond (and if any indoor occupants respond).

Its transmission radio frequency is not what sets one garage door remote apart from any other. Instead, each door remote controller transmits in rf adigital codeinto the air near your house, and any door opener power head set to the same code recognizes the code and is commanded to energize its power head motor to raise or lower the attached door in reverse of its last most previous transport direction. The chance, probabilistically speaking, of any two near-neighboring houses' garage doors (or even a random, travelling remote) being set at the exact same code among the large number of available alternative codes is quite remote, but it can sometimes happen.

The solution is for the house owner--that is you-to change the reception code in your door opener power head unit by repositioning small selector contact switches in a code pad situated on the power head, typically behind a plate or cover of some kind--or you might have to remove the power head cover. Once found, it is fairly easy to do by setting the numbered or lettered switches to form a multi-digit code, much like a digital padlock combination except in binary or some base other than decimal. Next, record the new code, and change the code by the same means and method on all associated remote control instruments. It is not a bad idea to change garage door remote access code from time to time simply as a matter of routine garage door and door opener maintenance. Check for code switch location and setting procedure for you power head in user manual or on line. That should be the end of the problem and also discourage anyone casing your neighborhood for potential unlawful entry vulnerability.

If you have a 315MHZ LiftMaster Garage door opener do the following:
Follow the purple wire (Antenna) up and you will see a square purple button.
Press and hold the square purple button for ten seconds until the amber led goes out.
Press and release the purple button one time (The amber led will come on solid).
Press and hold the button on the garage door opener remote control for two seconds (The light bulb on the garage door opener will blink and you will hear a click sound the amber led will go off).
to program the wireless keypad do the following:
Press and release the purple button one time (The amber led will come on solid).
Enter a four digit code into the keypad then press and hold the enter button for two seconds (The light bulb on the garage door opener will blink and you will hear a click sound the amber led will go off).

How do I program the garage door opener?

You post again, what the model is of the opener, the car model, it looks like this control is in a car.

Most times you need the garage door remote, then you have to hold a button and the remote button to sync the two.

What ever you are trying to program, if this is a car, you need the manual.

If you need more help, you need to post the model number of everything.

Not every car, every opener is the same at programing.

Imagine that, life simple.

Garage door is opening when the neighbor open theirs with remot

You say you "setup the remote and the main box but doesn't solve." I think you mean you programmed the unit but I'm not sure. Anyway try holding the smart/learn button in for 10 seconds and this will erase the memory. None of the remotes should work. Now when you are sure the neighbor will not be using their opener, program your remotes. This may be what you did but I'm not sure.

Universal garage door remote

I have a feeling your neighbor operated their door opener when you were programming your new clicker. Try erasing the memory of your opener and then program the clicker again making sure your neighbors do not operate theirs at the same time. To erase the memory hold the smart/learn button in for 10 seconds.

Garage door opened by neighbor

Have you seen the neighbor open your door? The reason I ask is because it is almost impossible. The most common cause of a door opening by itself is a bad wall control or the wiring leading to it. You can temporarily eliminate both possibilities by removing the wire from terminal 1 at the rear of the motor unit. Do this and ask your neighbor to bring over his remote and try it on your opener.
