You can do the following steps to isolate the problem:

1. Open a command prompt and try to ping a website. Type: ping or ping
If it gives a 'request timed out' result, then you might not be connected to the internet.

2. Try to flush your DNS. From the command prompt, type: ipconfig /flushdns

3. Try to renew your connectivity from the internet. Again in the command prompt, type:
ipconfig /release (press enter) and then type: ipconfig /renew

4. Try to ping or again and see if an IP is responding.

Please let me know if the three steps did not work for you so I could suggest more.

Good Luck!

Sounds like a fire wall issue... do you have zone alarm or windows firewall turned on or norton internet security or mcafee?? try disabling them completely .... then you will have to go back and fix the rule that blocked you from getting on the internet you'll have to look through all the rules created recently

This error seems to be related to DNS. First, see if you have am internet connection. Verifying this can be done various ways depending on your setup and operating system. The quickest and most universal way is to launch another browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.) and see if you can view Google or another common site. IF you can, then it is likely that the proxy settings in Chrome are incorrect. If not then you may have a problem with your network adapter settings or the setup of whatever gear you have that connects your computer to your ISP. For any deeper troubleshooting we'll need to know what your setup is.

I have lost the file,edit,view,history,bookmarks,tools,help...toolbars..i don't know how i get them all back..

That is the browser "menu bar", with dropdown menus for various tasks.

If the menu bar does not display, press the "Alt" key (if you are using Windows). That will restore the menu bar temporarily. You may then proceed to restore it permanently, by going to the menu bar and selecting: View > Toolbars > Menu bar

My computor is taking a long time to get onto web site

Hi there,

Usually this occurs due to various reasons. I would suggest a few steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Open the web browser you're using to browse the pages. Check for the tool bars that may be installed. These toolbars gets installed automatically while downloading any applications or files in the Computer. If any toolbars are installed please uninstall them. These toolbars can slow down connecting to the internet.

In order to uninstall these toolbar, perform the below steps:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs.
2. Under Change or Remove Programs, check the presence of the name of the toolbar in the list of installed programs.
3. Please uninstall the program from the list and check if this resolves the issue.
After performing the above, I would recommend you to restart the Computer once before you access the internet.

I would also suggest that you try deleting cookies, history files and temporary internet files. Please view the below article to view the steps:

I would also suggest that you disable the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). Please refer the below article to view the steps:

Also try using different web browsers like Firefox, Safari, Opera etc., and check if the issue still persists.

I would also suggest that you boot the Computer into Safe mode with Networking option. Please refer the below article to view the steps to start the Computer in "Safe mode with Networking" option.

Please check if the browser is still taking a lot of time to open a web page. If the web page open normally, then I guess it is required to upgrade RAM of the Computer.

Please check whether the issue started after installing any application. If yes, try uninstalling the application and check if this resolves the issue.

If the web page opens slowly, then I suggest that you reinstall the Operating System.

Keep getting error when try to go to any friends' pages

Yeah this is something that I don't think you can fix because it's not your problem. I would suggest contacting Facebook and using their help system here.

If you are getting a "Sorry, this profile is not available at the moment. Please try again shortly" error when trying to view a friend's profile, please report this issue here.

If your getting an "Done but with errors on the page" error your problem is most likely related to your Internet browser. To upgrade your Internet browser, or clear its cache and cookies, please follow these instructions.

Go to safe mode with f8 as os starts. Restore os to an earlier date when everything was functional. Use system restore (start - all programs - accessories -system tools - system restore). Flush browser plugins. (uninstall java, ar, flash etc..) Run virus/spyware/malware scan. Clean infections if found. Update os and browser. Delete unknown browser helper objects. Update plugins and addons. Remove old toolbars and install new.

My dell d600 wont open web page but is connected to internet

Perform the Internet Explorer setup:

1- Open Internet Explorer and go to [Tools] and [Internet Options]
2- Click on "Connections" tab
3- Click on button that says "Setup" and follow the on-screen instructions

If the above doesn't work and your Internet Explorer worked in the last couple days, make sure your browser has not updated to the new Internet Explorer 8 version.
If you have another computer at this location, check if that one can connect to the internet and surf the web
If the above doesn't work (or is not available), your next option is to perform the "System Restore"
1- go to [Start], All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
2- choose restore my computer to an earlier time and click next
3- choose a date when you last remember internet explorer working and on the window beside it (to the right) choose from the list either "system check point" or something that may be related to updates or Internet explorer (if nothing else, choose System check point)
4- Click next and after the restart, the computer will tell you if it restored successfully.
5- remember, you can only restore to the dates that are in "bold"

Let us know how it goes and rate us. :)
