Meaning, if I lower the room temperature down in the room where the TV is, I am able to power on and off TV, as normal, with no blinking blue light issue. However, when the room temperature is warmer (~ 70 degrees F) and the set is turned on/off then, the issue with the blinking blue light is encountered. I am aware that it has been previously determined that a bad IC Regulator is the root cause for this issue. But shouldn't the issue be constant, without regard to the room temperature?

aircons normally pull down to approx. 17 degree celcius.and heats to approx 30 degree celcius. most of the time you need to simply clean the condenser properly and to make sure fans are in good order.

I too, took off the back of my Sony TV after I started getting red and green shadows (called retrace lines) around words and people; and blew out all the dust inside hoping that would help. Ironically, I discovered that most problems with rear projection TVs are due to a malfunction located in the bottom FRONT panel, accessed by taking off the front speaker panel and then a wooden panel after that to access the circuitry, specifically this little black box with 6 screws on it. probably the temperature in the area where the thermostat sensor is placed is hotter ...so .if you want a higher temperature ..just set it with 5 degrees higher..and see what 's happening ..I think this will make it get to 70 ..
