Question about Frigidaire HV2736B Kitchen Hood
Intermittently, the unit will not turn on. Can push the switch and nothing. Then I'll push the switch a few times and I can hear something electrically happening, but still the hood will not rise nor will the blower fan turn on. Then I can push it a few more times, finally, the blower will slowly spool up and the hood will finally rise.
Do I have a motor slowly going out? What other issues could be on the horizon? The unit is only 2 years old.
NASCAR...I'm thinking more like the switch. If you can, with the power off gain access to the switch wiring. find the lead that goes to the power and the motor. Connect them directly (you might need a paper clip). Tape it all up securely and fire up the power. If it works...you will know about the switch...if not, you might look at the motor. By the way...check that motor rotation...it should turn easily when you give it a spin. Motors of the type used in fans generally don't degrade in performance unless they get gummed up with kitchen grease. Clean the grease off with WD 40.
