I cannot get the camera to video record - Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H300 Digita Camera - Black

Yes, the Olympus EVOLT E-500 digital camera is capable of recording video. The camera has the ability to record video in AVI format, at a resolution of 640x480 pixels, and at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. The camera also has a built-in microphone for audio recording.
It's important to note that the video recording function of the Olympus EVOLT E-500 is quite basic and the camera is not designed primarily for video recording, so the quality of the video may not be as good as a dedicated video camera.

That is correct. You can zoom in and out before starting the movie, but you cannot zoom while recording. See page 18 of the Cyber-shot handbook.

The problem is the microphone on the camera. The mic on the camera is for recording sound in more normal environments. The sound level on a typical concert is much higher than normal, and the mic on the camera just doesn't have what it takes to record sound at those levels.

One possible solution is to record the sound with a dedicated audio recording device, and combine the video and audio in your video editing software.

Connecting to PC via PC Connection Cable
Use the provided PC connection cable to connect the DVD video camera/recorder to PC as shown in the last.

Note:
• No data can be written to the HDD, disc or SD memory card in this DVD video camera/recorder when it is connected to PC.
• The PC connection cable does not supply power to the DVD video camera/recorder: Use the AC adapter/charger
to power the DVD video camera/recorder.
• Before connecting the DVD video camera/recorder to PC, disconnect any cables or camera accessories (external
video flash, external microphone, etc.) other than the PC connection cable and AC adapter/charger.
• When connecting the DVD video camera/recorder to PC, the ACCESS/PC indicator will light green. While HDD or
a disc is being accessed, the indicator will light or blink orange. While an SD memory card is being accessed, the
CARD ACCESS indicator will light or blink red.

If you connect the DVD video camera/recorder to PC via PC connection cable, the PC will automatically recognise the DVD video camera/recorder. After recognition is finished, it may be
prompted to restart the PC: In this case, follow the instruction and restart the PC.

Your only fix is to buy another camera.

The FE210 is a very low cost basic video stills camera. Although it has the ability to record video when needed it does not record audio as it lacks the hardware to do so (click here to see the Olympus model specifications which clearly show no sound recording facility listed under Movie Recording System). On your camera it's really only a free taster of video simply because the camera shares hardware with other models in the range which record both video and audio. Keeping it basic on the FE-210 keeps the price down as many users don't want to record video and so don't want to pay for unnecessary features.

Video features are available only on iPhone 3G S. With the built-in camera, it's easy to take photos and record videos with iPhone. To record videos, press/touch camera icon on the screen. Unfortunately that's the way it is. The ViviCam does not record sound. It's basically a still camera with a little video capability grafted on. It's not a camcorder.

The SV-AV100 records both MPEG2 and MPEG4 motion video. The SV-AV50 and SV-AV25 record MPEG4 motion video only. The SV-AS10 does not record MPEG4 or MPEG2 motion video. It can only record QuickTime™ Motion JPEG.
