If the tray will not open then there is a component blown out in the dvd player itself and unless you are capable of working with SMC`S (surface mount components) then you had better get professional assistance. The replacement part is only .50 cents but is a nightmare to replace. If there is a disk stuck in the drive and you want it back you`ll have to remove the top cover from the unit and locate a square hole on the side of the drive and insert a paper clip size pin to release the door then push the tray out.

Very seldom fuse is a factor, most common problem with tray not ejecting is a worn or loose belt slipping on the motor not able to eject. Sometimes can be hardened grease which makes it difficult to load or eject as well. As justaskjoe suggested look for small needle sized hole somewhere along trays lid in front of machine and use straightened paperclip to unload tray, if none found then unfortunately techsupport is the only way to remedy this.

MAny DVD's have a manual release. If you have one look for a tiny hole near the tray. Straighten out a paper clip and insert the end of the wire into the hole. Puse and the tray should open.

How do I open the DVD tray on my computer? Is there a key stroke or something?

Not sure if you mean how to open a tray to remove a disc that's stuck inside, or simply to open it so you can insert a disc; plus you did not specify if you have a laptop, tablet or desktop. For this reason, I am going to assume your PC is a desktop in this instance based on my experience (though I have used laptops in the past).
~
Depending on the model and PC design, usually CD/DVD-Rom drives have a button which is either under or next to the tray. I presume laptops with a DVD drive would have a button next to the tray to eject it while the unit is on; desktop DVD drives typically have the OPEN/CLOSE button under the tray on the front (right-hand side).
~
Desktop DVD drives have a small hole on the front to allow you to gently manipulate the loading gear to release the tray open in the event of a disc stuck inside. Using a small precision screwdriver (or sewing needle) you put it in the hole until you feel it hit a tooth of the loading gear behind it. Push the needle or screwdriver (gently) toward the tray (i.e. move the first gear backwards while moving a second gear forward) and slowly open the tray until there is enough for your fingers to pull it out the remainder of the way.
~
DO NOT FORCE A JAMMED CD/DVD TRAY OPEN (this will strip/break the plastic loading gears).

Magnavox vhs and dvd player vhs insertion issues

Someone is going to have to take the unit apart---mechanism issue with the tray or the gears that lower it etc---not too many shops left that work on VHS decks anymore so call around first.

I have a dvd from England and my old Sony DVP-C670D keeps giving me a prohibited message4 every time i try to play it. How do i unblock the region code.

Hi there,

Although no guarantee, this 'region hack' is rumoured to work:

1. Place the DVD player into 'standby' mode.

2. Using the Sony remote, press the following button sequence: Title; Clear; Power (green button); 0 (zero button)

3. Using the remote, Open the disc tray, then close again.

Now insert your disc and attempt to play - allow up to 2mins to load/play. If no response, open/close tray and try playing disc again.

Cheers,

I inserted a disc and it couldn't be ejected, but I was able to insert another dvd and it plays. The touch screen became not very sensitive and responsive. What happened to my first disc? And how can I...

There is always a small pin hole in the tray of the DVD. Insert a pin through it and the tray will open mechanically. After removing the disk press the tray to close it.

DVD burner will not burn or finalize

Hi,
There are three things you can do that will eventually give you a working solution. Depending on the level of problem. Start with 1 progress to 3 until it works.
1. Use a cleaning disc. (one that use an alcohol based liquid)
2. If the cleaning disc does not solve it, you can use an ear bud, with some iso-propyl alcohol to clean the DVD lens on the drive directly. (you have to open the player and the drive)
3. The guaranteed working solution is to replace the DVD drive inside the player. This is quite a simple process, as most players use a standard IDE DVD-ROM or DVD writer.
You simply remove the face plate, (apply power to the drive, and press eject first) the tray will open. Unclip the tray face, and then with the tray open you can unclip the plastic face plate too.
Remove the old drive, and fit the new drive by reversing the removal procedure.
Once everything is assembled you should be able to watch DVD's again. If you can't find a cheap DVD drive locally, try ebay.
I have done this on over 50 players for my clients in the past. I use LG DVD roms and DVD writers for the DVD recorders, irrespective of brand.
Let me know how it goes.

Toshiba sd-4205 5-dvd carousel changer declares mecha error during startup, will not eject tray.

This may not work for everyone, but.....
I had the same problem with the Toshiba SD-3205. After unplugging, trying button combos, etc, nothing worked. I could here a slight whine inside the machine, and then again...."MECHA ERROR".
I turned the unit on its side to see if there was a manual tray button on the bottom. Nothing. Then just to try it, I turned the machine off and on again while on its side.
It started up, I heard a clatter, and then the display changed to "INSERT DISC". I placed it the right way up again and pressed "OPEN TRAY" and it worked!
My theroy: There was one DVD in the carousel, and I think last time the tray shut, it got wedged somehow and prevented the carousel from rotating. Turning the machine on its side and pressing "OPEN" is what dislodged the disk.

Recording from vhs to dvd

Direct copy VCR to DVD:
- Insert VHS tape you want to copy
- Insert a recordable DVD disc
- Press DVD copy button on front panel or remote control (to DVD).
- To stop recording press the stop button.

IMPORTANT: If attempting to copy copyrighted material the Samsung DVD-VR320 will detect the encoding and will not allow the copy to be made.

Dvd player not working

the disc may be jammed. try using a paper clip straightened a bit and insert into the little hole in the front of the dvd door. that should release the dvd drawer. if the drawer can not be pulled out because of a disc jam, you can try to close the drawer again and gently shake the dvd player side to side, front to back to jostle the disc back into the tray/drawer. then try the eject button again. failing that, you can try to remove the outer case and that ought to give you access to the disc, and allow you to see where it is relative to the tray.
try that and let me know how you are progressing with this problem
good luck
