SOURCE: trouble shooting radio wiring

Most always will either be a red or ornage wire for power and black or brown for ground. Use a test light to check those wires with the key off. If it lights up...main power/constant feed/memory feed. the ground wires will not light unless the clip end of the test light is attached to a power source

The old Regency radios used a 'stereo' 1/4 plug (3 circuit). Back ring was ground, center ring was switch to PTT to ground and tip was audio line. Is your plug a 'stereo' 1/4 plug?

Will a bad antenna blow to transmit fu?nction. If so, how do you trouble shoot antenna

Yes, if your antenna presents a high SWR to the radio, the finals could be overloaded and damaged. the first thing you should do is make sure the coax is not damaged and shorting. Then check the antenna to make sure the connections are all good.

It tells me there is no antenna not detected

Antenna not detected could be caused by one of three things: The antenna, the docking station, or the receiver. If you have other equipment to troubleshoot, you can narrow down what is causing your issue and replace it. tss-radio.com is a good source for parts and trouble shooting ;)

Just need a pic to see what color wire goes to each of the 20 pins on the back of the deck

Wiring Diagram / Color Codes
1. Power Antenna (dark blue wire) - Connect to power antenna or amplifier.
2. Ground (black wire) - Connect to ground terminal or clean, unpainted part of chassis.
3. Memory/Battery (yellow wire) - Connect to battery or 12 volt power source that is always on. The radio will not work if this wire is not connected.
4. Accessory/Ignition (red wire) - Connect to existing radio wire or radio fuse.
5. Left front speaker - White/Black is negative, White is positive
6. Right front speaker - Gray/Black is negative, Gray is positive
7. Left rear speaker - Green/Black is negative, Green is positive
8. Right rear speaker - Violet/Black is negative, Violet is positive
9. RCA Outputs to Amplifier - Black is front, Gray is rear
10. Auxiliary Input Cable
11. Subwoofer Output
12. Antenna
13. CD Changer

The manual is available here:

The wiring diagram is under the section Wiring.

Reception

Check your antenna wire to see if it is spliced or cut. If you do not recognize a problem still you can usually get very good help from calling Sirius. They have been good about trouble-shooting and repairs.

No AM reception for car radio...do get FM reception.

I was having the same problem with a jvc kd hdr 30. I Installed it myself over a year ago and never wanted to deal with the issue. Finally, I decided to take a look at it today.
On my head unit, all wires were connected except one blue one with a tag that says "do not connect to power, for remote device or power antenna only." This unit is in a '97' MBZ E320 with no visible antenna; I think it is part of the windshield. In any case, between the wiring diagram in the manual and the harness that is part of my car, I was left with 2 blue wires to choose from, one with a white stripe and one with a gray stripe. After testing both for power or ground, I determined neither had power with key on or off. Both had high resistance ground when compared to the chassis ground. In other words, I measured between chassis and these wires. First, I took a wire and connected it to the chassis ground and connected the other end to the blue wire coming from the unit while tuned to a local am station. This simply killed all reception am or fm but did not harm the unit. Next, I connected the blue wire with gray stripe of the car harness to the blue wire of the unit and again this killed all reception. Then I connected the blue wire with white stripe of car harness to the blue wire of unit and presto magic I had great am reception.
I am guessing that this blue wire with white stripe must be part of the antenna itself or perhaps is a connection that increases antenna power. Maybe 'power antenna' on tag refers to an actual powered antenna (like as in amplified?) and not as in an antenna that rises up out of fender, as I believed.
This may not help the first person with the question, but maybe it will help someone out there who searches for these kinds of answers like I do from time to time.

I'm looking for rabbit ears/antenna for my Durabrand T.V.

Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. all carry a selection of antennas that will work with your converter box. Depending on the strength of DTV signals in your area, you may need an amplified antenna (has a built-in booster) to get good reception. Analog broadcasts were watchable with a weak signal (the picture would just be fuzzy), but the digital system needs a good strong signal. The sales people may be able to suggest an antenna based on what other customers have purchased and their reports of how well they do. Outdoor antennas are also available if needed.

Transmits but does not Receive

Check your microphone by swapping with another duplicate. If no differance, you will need a SWR meter (standing wave ratio) to find the culprit. It attaches in line of the coax and determinds power out and reflected power. The reading should be 25 watts foward and max of 1 reflected.

Sirius Antenna

Best suggestion for this is to put the antenna on top of house. First off, you need to realize where you live...the satellites circulate in a figure 8 across the middle of USA and Partial in Canada...if you live over on the East face the antenna East like...if on the West, then face it West...North, South...make sure not to bend your wirling lines what so ever they can be damaged. Tapper to side of house gently. Do not hammer down hard or add to much pressure to the wires over all when you are done call that 800 to activate...you will be ask to give them the sn or product number to do this should be on the bottom of the box of your radio or on the sticker...they will then attempt to send a signal to your radial shortly after..keep in mind some times this takes any where from a min to 15mins...if nothing by that time, they will start the trouble shooting process on the wiring. Have fun!
