Foxconn Motherboards Led Boot display

My buddy has a Alienware with a Foxconn Motherboard in it. I'm not sure the model. When it boots up the LED code display says DA. I'm trying to figure out what that code means. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Foxconn Motherboards Led Boot display

Not sure what the code means, but I got it once on a foxconn board when I accidentally plugged the ps/2 keyboard into the mouse port next to it.

Without more detailed information, I really can't help you decipher that code... Since you don't know which specific Foxconn motherboard you're working with, it might be best if you contact Alienware Customer Support for detailed information:

Good luck; let us know what you learn...

I have a foxconn motherboard (G33M02) and the LED is flashing orange and it will not power on. I have used the PSU on another computer and it work and when i used a different PSU the LED is steady orange...

In that cse you must try 2 more things:
1 - remove all disks and try to boot in the BIOS - if it works then one of your disk is dead and blocks the motherboard. Find it by elimination and replace it. If it doesn't work then
2 - replace the memory, video card  and processor (in this order) and again try to boot in the BIOS. If everything fails then your mobo is dead, replace it.

Still have your Foxconn manual? Turn to page 19. See figure FP1.
Download manual from Foxconn, click on the link provided;

System cases vary when it comes to wire colors. The most common wire colors for positive are, solid blue, light blue, solid red, solid green, light green. Negative wire colors. Each led, IDE-LED, Reset, PWR-LED and PWRBTN should share a negative colored wire. Common is the solid color white but this can vary from case to case.

Good luck!

Pc can't boot up , no display , hdd led is constatly lighted

Check CMOS battery(Coin shaped battery), it should show 2.5-3V, if not then replace and check, you can even try and test the mbd without the CMOS battery. Some mbd does not boot with a faulty CMOS battery.

Foxconn P9657AB motherboard installation problem

You're Foxconn board uses the Award bios.
The long beeps you are hearing are telling you there is a problem with you're memory.
You're pic does not look like the Foxconn P9657AB-8EKRS2H MB as shown in the user manual. Found on This link.
The pic on Foxconn's site does but not the manual listed.
The motherboard uses four 240-pin slots with 1.8V for DDR2 memory only.
(Question? Did you're ECS MB use DDR2 memory)?
If you have more than 1 DIMM installed remove all but 1.
Move the DIMM into the closest slot next to the CPU.
Boot the PC & check for beeps. If still presant move the DIMM to the next slot & try again. Continue this through all four slots. Than try another DIMM. If the mother board continues to beep as mentioned than call Foxconn. (There is a bios update mentioned below for memory).
The CPU may come into question. (It’s revision). You may have to call Foxconn for this information. (580-272-0035). They do not place this information in their user manual. Most users have to call. The rev of the CPU may conflick with the memory causing you to receive the bios beeps. (I have had to return 2 boards for this reason). I picked an Asus board over Foxconn.
I have come across this with Foxconn motherboards these past two years. Suggest you update you’re bios. Foxconn has a revision dated, 3-28-2008 for memory before you call. After bios update test the memory again for beeps. Still there? Return the board is my suggestion.
It’s a guess that the red led will go away after the memory issue has been addressed. Normally there is a green led on most motherboards. This means standby. The board has power connected. I could not find any reference in the user manual * .pdf, for R450.

Good Luck ninjo61!

Repeated boot.

ok... first check that all power cables from your supply are firmly in place and that the little red or green switch on the back of the computer that changes the Voltage setting is correct unless you have a UPS. secondly make sure no loose debry, cable, or cpu box it touching the motherboard and it is still secure in its mountings. then check that the power, reset and all LED plugs are correctly connected to your MB for connections look at your user book for details. now how far does the computer go in the POST ? if its possible i would also reset the BIOS by either removing the battery from the motherboard and starting it up then replacing it and downloading system BIOS chipset boot disk from: good luck.
