I believe this question has been asked before. You should search before you ask for help. Regardless, the general solution seems to be that it is an LCD defect and you should be able to return it to Nintendo and they will repair it for free.

My ds lite just switched off and it was charged

Hi, so if you try switching on the ds lite, nothing at all happens ??
Does the green light flash even if it is for like a split second. If it does then it is more likely top be a blown fuse. If 1 of your screens flicker also, this could be your problem as the ds will not start up with a broken screen. Please advise

No touch screen response

Remove the battery at the back of the ds to reset it, to do this you will need a small phillipes screw driver, and a small knife to flip the battery out.

When the battery has been removed turn the ds over and and rub your finger quite hard around the far edge of the bottem screen all the way around, do this a few times.

Turn the ds back over and re-insert the battery and the cover. Turn the ds on and set up your name etc, once set up go to the little icon on the bottem of the screen that looks like the ds, then go to the yellow icon on the right to calibrate the touch screen, if all goes well you should now have the touch screen back.
Post back if not, you may need to open the ds and check the connector on the logic board.

Need instructions for changing language to english

Turn the ds on without a game cartridge, touch the screen, the next page should show up where you can enter pictochat, at the very bottem there is a small icon resembling a ds, touch on it with your stylus, it will bring up another four icons, touch the spanner icon it should be the first icon from left, you will now see 3 icons click the one that resembles a circle, then in the next page youll want to choose the one on the top left of the screen, touch it with the stylus and confirm by pressing A, press B to go back through the menus until it asks you to shut down press A to shut down and then turn back on, the ds will now be set to english.

I was changing the shell on my ds lite, and when I turn it on, it turns off almost immediately, but if I take off the internet part of the motherboard, the ds turns on but there is no image on the ds. It...

Firstly without the "internet part of the motherboard" the ds is unable to load.

When you turn the ds lite on do any of the screens flash? If they do then the screen that doesn't flash will either need to be reconnected or replaced (they are very easily damaged). That will solve your issue.

If none of the screens flash then its possible that you will need to change/replace some fuses on the motherboard.

Get back to me with your findings and I will talk you through what you will need to do.

My ds will not turn on

Hi,

It sounds like one of you're screens has broken. What you have discribed is generally what happens one either the top or bottom LCD screen has broken.

If it is the top screen the bottom screen will flash for 1/2 a second and the DS turns off.

If it is the bottom screen the DS should still turn on but with no reaction from the screens. (the Ds will shut down immediatley after turning on)

Ndsl power problem

As Bob (HowlingMad) said, the Ds and Ds Lite will turn off immediately after being turned on if the connection to the top screen is broken.

Check the connections between the screen and Ds, if they look damaged then try replacing the ribbon cable for the top screen (or you may have to replace the whole screen - i'm not sure if it is built together on the Ds Lite). If the connections appear fine then it may be that due to the movement the connector has come out of it's socket/plug (also like Bob said), this is easily fixable if this is the case and would require you to take the casing off your Ds and plug it back in.

Hope this helps
