Question about Car Audio & Video
Electronics are especially vulnerable to any kind of water damage or liquid spills. It seems your hideaway unit has suffered water damage and this has caused the internal circuits to short. You may have blown resistors or capacitors or other damage and the unit will need to be checked with proper electronic testing equipment to diagnose the exact fault.
Unfortunatey even a small amount of liquid is sufficient to cause this type of damage as the circuitry in these units is extremely complex and vulnerable to damage in this situation.
You might try drying the unit under light heat e.g sit the unit on a shelf above a radiator for a day or two and this may help - there is no guarantee with this as the damage to the circuits may already be done. It is not adviseable to dry circuits under direct heat like a hairdryer as direct heat usually ends up causing more damage.
If this fails to have any effect I would suggest that first you get an estimate for repair - depending on the component effected it may still be repairable at a reasonable cost. If the cost for repair is high it is best to replace the unit.
Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many Thanks.
