I've had the same issue with a different dishwasher, and in my case two different possibilities had occurred. 1. Make sure the door is actually closed properly. 2. Make sure nothing is blocking the armature from spinning.

When switch is on the control panel is powered up as well as the rest of the unit. If you need to add a dish after activation you just push the button before opening the door and it interrupt the cycle which resumes with another push.
If by reset you mean cancel the programme, then you need to press and hold the start/pause button for about 10 seconds until the drain pump starts to run. This will continue for about 2 minutes.When it stops, turn off the appliance. When you turn on again all should be well
