Same %^#$ problem. I have owned Dimplex and Charmglow, all three FAILED within a year of puchase. Home Depot is worthless, they say send it to the manufacturer. As if it's worth it to ship a 45 lb piece of garbage back to China and back.
What's more, an electrician friend fixed one and it broke again with a couple of weeks, so I'm not even sure I should bother trying again
I suspect the cheap switches the maker uses do not support the amps needed to run the fireplace and they burn out. (I'm not an electrician, maybe I used the wrong words)

Re: No heat, same as you.
Unfortunately, there are so many things, that are 'Designed to fail'. I know this is not a solution, but if you bear in mind that, sometimes, you do get what you pay for. Just make sure that, if whatever it is, is, under guarantee, be firm, and insist that they give you the service, you have payed for. Good luck with that.

Cy, Home Depot must have given you a good deal on this model, as it has been discontinued by Brinkmann. Never the less, Brinkmann still supports it.
In case Home Depot failed to include the Owner's Manual when they delivered it. I have included a link to it, that you can download & print for future reference. Starting on Page # 20, you will see how to install the drip pan. http://images.brinkmann.net/docs/pdf/810-6805-1.pdf
I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
In my online research, I was not able to find any free downloads for manuals of this brand. I did find a website that sold Charmglow manuals, though they did not list your specific model. However, they have a toll free # you can call and request your specific model manual. Hope this helps.
hello. i can help. here is the home depot number to call. insist that they take it back, they will, if they say no tell them you will report them to the better business bureau and the attorney general for your state.
Charm glo is their brand. they are responsible to make your purchase good. keep good notes about your call. always ask the persons name and then ask to speak to their supervisor. be nice but firm. do not lose your temper. you will win this one.
1. Are you using a portable LP cylinder? LP Regulators freeze up when the liquid part is the propane is flowing through the regulator this is caused by an overfilling of the propane tank.
2. If the BTU capacity of the regulator is not high enough to cover the BTUs of your grill, the regulator is working too hard and potentially pulling liquid (not vapor as it should)
I would suggest calculating the BTUs of your grill and looking to see what the capacity of the regulator you are using.
