Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a Generac pressure washer, model #01450-0, with a Honda 5hp motor. The motor runs fine, but the pressure hose pulsates as if the pump is intermittently making pressure, and the pressure out of the sprayer is about half of what it should be. A friend suggested replacing the seals in the unloader. I bought an unloader kit, replaced everything and it still runs the same. It will build a small amount of pressure, spray for a few seconds, then the pressure dropps to almost nothing. Any help appreciated.

Take a small diameter wire and poke thru the discharge hole of the spray head to clean out.
Second time in 6 months that I had the same problem. The problem is alway in the spray head.

Landa pressure washer LT 4035-4000 psi. Why is it losing pressure and continually pulsating?

If the pump is pulsating rapidly most likely valves are leaking or debris under valve keeping one or more from closing. If the pump pulsates slowly, comes up to pressure then low pressure then repeats, problem is pressure regulator /bypass. Or you could have a combination of both. Try lowering the pressure to lowest setting to see if slow pulsation stops. As parts age within pump and debris hinder operation you can no longer operate at full pressure. To make the pump last, use highest pressure as needed and everyday work using only 60 to 75 percent of capacity.

Honda 5HP pressure washer. When you press handle to get pressured water, motor does not rev up to give you high pressure.

Most small pressure washers do not have an automatic throttle control to increase engine speed on demand (activated by trigger on wand). You must set the governor/throttle to about max. to get the rated pressure. A honda motor produces 5 hp when it is turning about 3600 rpm. To increase the life of the pump, use about 80 % of capacity of the pump and increase only for stubborn debris.

Have a Honda Gc series 2.0 Gpm 4.0 hp gas powered pressure washer model 01195-0 that the pump has went out in and am having problems finding parts ( seals and unloader valve ) I have googled but no luck...

Honda has nothing to do with this pressure washer, other than it has a Honda motor. It is made by Generac. The pump is a cheap pile that can be replaced with a horizontal mount AR Pump for a decent price. The pump that came on the unit is not worth rebuilding. Try looking for an AR Pump RMV2G25 as a replacement.

No high preasure at nozzle

Try starting the washer up without a nozzle clicked in and purging water through the pump, shut it down and install the nozzle and restart, if the motor lugs then it is making pressure, if the pump squirts water out of the by-pass immediately and or constantly it may be a stuck bypass and not a bad pump.

On a generac pressure washer that works fine.

Oil level in pump and motor OK? Spark plug not fouled? Has it sat for a while - carb dirty? Running (loaded) throttle rpm not high enough?
