What kind of unit you have will designate what kind of relay it has. Goodman has fanrelay sequencer, Carrier and others have relays and fan boards. So it is one or the other . You will end up calling a service tech. There is only so far you can go yourself without knowledge of the system. Russ

I HAVE A CARRIER CENTRAL AIR, THE OUTSIDE FAN IS BLOWING INWARD AND WON'T SHUT OFF WHEN THE FURNACE SHUTS OFF AFTER TEMP IS REACHED

Check the t-stat to make sure that the "fan" switch is st to auto. If not the fan is in the "on" position and is always on. Otherwise, It sounds like your "Central Air" is a packaged unit(Furnace and air all one unit outside the home) and the fan relay inside the unit is stuck. This need to be replaced. It is the rectangular unit with the leads from the fan motor attached to it.

Intertherm furnace/AC, fan on the furnace won't shut off.

How old is the intertherm. The old ones have fan limit switch and sometimes they stick. The new ones have a fan baord or time delay relay. They go bad from moisture and they just go bad sometimes. It sounds like you just have a shorted relay. If you think you can replace it you can get a relay at any parts store. Need the model number of unit. If not just call a service tech for free estimate. Outside fan not turning

Either the fan motor's brushes are wearing out, or the relay is going bad. If there is power to the motor, than the motor is faulty.

My old trane air conditioner

Sounds like either a relay or start capacitor has failed, Sorry, but, this is a problem only a tech should approach. For safety reasons.

One unit runs a while, powers down, other unit blows transformer

you say it keeps blowing the transformer? you mean circuit breaker? if it is the circuit breaker, have the wiring checked for a short, if no short do a ohm test on the compressor. it may have shorted out internaly.

Fan running constantly in the house

Check t-stat and make sure fan is set to "Auto", that might be why fan is running all the time, or it could be a fan relay that is stuck closed. It sounds like you A/C is over charged or you have a bad high pressure switch, this was a common problem with this manufacture especially in the heat mode.

Central air

Most thermostats have a setting for the fan called, "manual". That keeps the fan on continuously. The electronic thermostats can fail in a "fan on" condition. That would require a new thermostat. I also saw one air conditioner with a fan relay welded "on" by electrical surge. That would require a new relay.

Blower fan keeps shutting on/off,

Your blower fan turning on and off shows your thermostat is working. I am willing to bet you have the fan in the automatic condition. Check for a sticking contactor at the outside unit.
