Question about Washing Machines
I have a Whirlpool Stylemaster 4217141 and it won't spin. I understand that it could be the belt, but I'm not very mechanical and not sure what bolts or screws to remove from the back of the machine. Please help.
Eric Knoxville, TN
I think it's the capacitor. The capacitor live under the top of the washing machine, two screws, and measures about 7"x2". The capacitor gives the drum An extra 'bump' when all the weight is in It. Remove the capacitor with a pair of pliers or a spanner but under NO circumstances, touch the two connections at the to of the unit, you will get one hell of a shock! Run the machine empty with the top off and it should run properly. Then refix the top. Job done,
