You don't state if it's only got one heat setting? If it is running on the lower setting, which is more likely, or no heat at all then the element is broken. There are many types of element, the box element, wire surround element and direct heat. The box and direct heat are easy to replace, but the element is a pig! For a quick look, take the top of your machine and if you see an element like on an electric fire, it's a pay someone else job! Check out the prices of 2nd hand dryers!!!!!!

If the dryer is not heating or not heating at a high enough level, it may be caused by a faulty thermal fuse or a heating element that is burned or partially burned out. Both components can easily be tested with an ohm meter or multimeter for continuity. If there is no continuity, then the component is defective. The thermal fuse is usually located on or near the exhaust duct just inside the back the dryer. The heating element will be obvious when you see it. Sure hope this helps ya and best wishes.

My kenmore dw just stopped running thru cycles except drain

Hello, With the information you supplied I'm going to assume the light is blinking 7 times and pausing then blinking 7 times and so on. With the door cracked open hit the following button combination: -high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry Then close the door and hit cancel. The pump will run for a few moments and then you should be all set. Hope this helps Mike

It wont stop running... dries perfectly but wont stop. Thanks! ;o)

either a timer or the heating element or a blocked vent also there is a resister on some kenmore/whirlpool dryers and if it is out it wont advance in the auto cycles. It should advance in the timed cycle with or without heat

The Timer is the most common problem. Call Sears or Appliance Parts stores for new timer and replace it

This worked great - press Sani Dry, then press Heated Dry - then repeat - press Sani Dry, then press Heated Dry. All control lights will light and then press Cancel. The control panel should work normally.
