Question about HP Pavilion MX70 17" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Dark Screen I've had my Hp pavilion mx70 moniter quite a while, but i think its still good. But the problem is its extremely dull, i have brightness max and contrast, but it still wont go high enough. i have ATI catalyst control center and forced it to go higher and it worked...for awhile. after it was at the desired brightness it just shut off itself and the light turned yellow. Is my monitor too old, or does it need cleaning, or what. PLEASE help me

Hi

Not cleaning per sey but a tune up. CRT monitors have alot of things going on inside (high voltage and high heat). This causes parts to change value. You can send this to my company for a tuneup or take it to a local serviceman. The average price price should be +- $100.00.

Thanks

MY MONITER DELL E771A MONITER SCREEN IS VERY DARK I ALKREADY SAVE 100% BRIGHTNESS HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM

That's an old fashioned CRT. I'd increase contrast at well since it affects how bright the tones get and see if it helps. It should never be dark. It's may be dying.

Screen is dark and contrast and brightness are up to max, can a new bulb be put into the monitor?

To replace the crt picture tube will be an expensive exercise as they are not bulbs as such but the entire screen needs to be replaced as they are a complete unit.

If the monitor is working correctly, there is no problem. Not all 15 pins are used, therefore there is usually two missing.
