DSC-W150 SteadyShot says turn power on & off & lens pops in/out

I had the same problem with my Sony DSC-W150 camera. It turned out to have an easy fix. At the same time, press the power button and depress the shutter button halfway (the one you snap to take pics) as if you were trying to engage the autofocus without pressing the button down entirely. The lens will attempt to autofucus, which in my case was enough extra power to dislodge whatever debris/sand had clogged the lens. Hope this works for you!

Sony dsc w50 quit working

I think the memory card is full , try first taking off the battery and putting it back.
If the camera still does not work, try a different memory card.

If you still have problems, try going to setting menu and reset camera settings.

When i turn the power on the camera says "Access"

Your problem is likely due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, chances are that your batteries need to be replaced because they're just too worn to properly power the camera. And then, of course, there's the possibility that your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Computer says this camera is unknown

It says you need software, but that's because you have it set up as a PC camera (ie webcam). That is the default setting for this camera. To fix this, turn your camera on and go into Settings Mode. Find where it says PC Cam, and press the <- or -> buttons until it says Mass Storage. Then, plug your camera into the computer through the USB cable, and it will pop up as removable storage. Then you will be able to access your photos on your computer! For further clarification, see "USB Connection" in section 2.5 of your User's Manual.

Lens error

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens Error, Restart

Hi

What you are seeing is a generic stuck lens error message, turning off the camera and turning it on again will not fix the lens unfortunately.

Your lens needs to be cleaned or repaired, and if it cant be repaired it needs to be replaced. There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

Fixya rules prevent me from giving you a link to anything off Fixya that would help you fix your camera.

Good luck from....
