Johanne, I'm sorry that some 'wires' seem to have become crossed here.

However, I would love a chance at trying to provide a solution, to your problem! If I can't solve it, there are many others who may be able to.
I hope when you have a problem that you will think of us, we like to help!

I've a 99 protege replaced the rear main seal in, and leaks again , I was told that the crank was worn and that's what caused it to leak again could this be true or am I getting scamed

unlikley as its only the rubber that touches the crank shaft on any car but it could be warped moving the seal and letting oil out more likeley if its still leaking did the garage do it it may be that the seal was rubbish they put in and are trying to get more money out of you for the sake of another seal was it genuin parts of aftermarket parts as some times that makes a masive difference hope this helps

I have a Samsung washing machine which is leaving grey / greasy marks on my clothes? any suggestions? I'm not sure what's causing it. I've tried spinning the drun and it feels a bit rough so not sure if it...

bearings may have gone but the marks on the clothes sounds more like the door seal pull the door seal away from the drum slightly and see if it's dirty you get a grey slime caught in the seal give it a good clean

I used Foxhollowrun's solution and went to my local hardware store (Menard's). You can purchase 3/4" Hole Grommets typically found in the electrical department. The brand I purchased was Gardner Bender Model GHG-1575 3/4" Hole Grommets. Here is all that you need to do (very quick and easy):

1) Break away the brittle pieces from the original hole in the resevoir.

2) Remove the old rubber / plastic washers - I found I didn't need them. However, hang onto your metal washer that the drain screw goes through.

3) Slip the 3/4" grommet around the hole.

4) Place the original metal washer on top of the grommet.

5) Screw the drain screw back into the heater which will seal the grommet via pressure. Be sure not to over tighten it - I just snugged mine up.

6) Put everything back together, rinse several pots of water through it, check for leaks, and you should be good to go.

As Foxhollowrun indicated, you may need to tighten the drain screw a bit if you do have a leak. I lucked out - it worked the first time. I believe it cost me about $2 to fix. Also, I did not need any caulk. If you do use caulk, I was told you need to use food-grade caulk.

One last note - as Foxhollowrun indicated, the grommets are quick thick which is why I removed all of the old washers. The original metal washer is just thin enough to allow the drain screw to be reinstalled.

Thanks to Foxhollowrun for a great remedy!

American standard cadet 3 leaking around seal

get a new filler assembly. the water in the tank is heavy enough to close the seal completely. or the rubber seal is not making contact. thats' why the leak.
change the whole assemble ususally correct the problem.
adjuste the flow to about 1/4 to 1/3 under the over flow. if that still don't give you the pressure. you ca adjust the flow tube to 1/5 under the cover. that is the max.

Thermal issue !

A component inside the set has a thermal issue !

This may require hours of trouble shooting to find the components responsible.

Once the component(s) are found they could be serviced.
