Gas Oven - no flame at Bake Baffle - Glow Bar glows fine

No flame at Bake Baffle - Glow Bar glows fine.
Broiler works fine.
Can I swap Glow Bar and Control Valve between Broiler and Bake Baffles safely?

I have not tested for Voltage, Amperage, or continuity. Seems easier to swap parts.

If the glow bar is working (glowing) it is the gas valve. BUT, the glow bar can also actually glow and still not be working 100% and letting enough current through to the valve. You could swap an identical valve out to check it, if you don't have a meter. It's more than likely the valve though.

Oven slow to heat , oven burner goes on and off a lot, oven igniter glows....broiler works fine

Hello. I need the make/model number to help you accurately. It sounds like the bake ignitor is worn out and not consistently igniting the gas. How old is the unit? If it has more than a few years on it, the ignitor can wear--it might glow, but not enough to ignite gas. Remove the racks.Remove the bottom cover of the oven(usually there are 2 screws, right and left side at the rear, inside the oven. There usually will be a heavy steel flame shield held on by a single nut underneath the cover. Remove this shield. This will expose the ignitor(called a glow bar). One of the classic symptoms of a worn bar is that the center of the glow material will turn bright orange but not the rest of the resistive material. Also, you can test the viability of the bar using a meter. Normal amp draw on either of the 2 wires connected to it should have approximately 4 amps. Use a clamp-on voltage/ohm meter set to amps. Under normal conditions, the electric gas valve senses the current draw and will open, letting in gas to ignite. From activating "bake" to ignition *usually* takes 20 to 30 seconds. If you find yours is worn, HANDLE THE REPLACEMENT GENTLY. Don't knock it, drop it, or touch the resistive material. It is FRAGILE AND BREAKS EASILY(ask me how I know this!)The mount screws(usually 2) can become seized due to heat. Take your time removing them. Another symptom of a worn ignitor can be the "WHOOF" sound of too much gas building up in the oven prior to ignition. I've seen oven doors knocked open by too much gas saturation suddenly igniting from a slow glow bar. I hope I helped you!

Viking oven broiler will not ignite

Your gas valve would be my first guess. Is this broiler (and bake ) lit with a glow coil or spark probe that goes (goes click, click, to light)??
If spark probe, you will have to replace either gas valve or spark board.
If glow bar lights the broil but does not glow, then replace glow coil.

even though the ignitor seems to glow bright orange,it still maybe weak,as in not enough current to open the gas valve,an easy test is to just swap out or interchange the broiler ignitor and bake ignitors and see if this takes care of your issue on the lower bake side as most units use the identical ignitor for each upper and lower manifolds and the gas valve supplies both the bake and broiler manifolds depending on which you choose to use bake or broil

My gas oven (Frigidaire Gallery) is not preheating or coming up to temperature. The broiler and stove top burners work fine.

Most probable cause is a weak bake burner ignitor,if you can remove the floor of the oven and see a orange glow but within one minute thier is no flame the ignitor that glows is weak and needs to be replaced,if no glow at all ,if your capable find the 2 wires to the bake ignitor, using a volt meter set to AC volts there should be 120vac to the ignitor. If their is 120 vac and absolutly no glow the ignitor is cracked and needs to be replaced,if their is not 120 vac it could be the gas safety valve or control

The broiler works but the bake option doesn't work, the oven doesn't get hot, any suggestions?

Check the bake ignitor (glow bar attached to the burner). If it does not glow at all, but the voltage is supplied to it - replace. If it does glow, but draws current less than 3A - replace.

Kenmore gas range model# 362.72321 Oven will not ignite (sometimes)

Range Oven Temperature Sensor Part Number WB20K0004 Sears PartsDirect
This will be why the oven acts up. The broiler doesn't rely as much on this as the bake part does. Replace this and it should fix your problem.

Broiler works, as do burners. The oven will not come on. Gas whirlpool range 2003 year. Model SF367LEKB

jdelvecchio5Does the igniter (glow bar) come on whenever the bake function is selected.?

If the glow bar does not come on the safety valve will not open - no bake burner. check the electrical harness first then Try changing the igniter (glow bar first) before changing the safety valve/regulator.
