SOURCE: how to replace a commercial flush valve

These used to very simple but have become more complex as technogy evolves. I will give you the standard answer though.

First shut the water supply off to the aplliance (there is a little decorative cover on the valve that is attached to the water line coming out of the wall. It looks like a nut. Pop this cover off and screw the screw in remember right is closed and left is opened.)

Now it is only a matter of unscrewing the couple of nuts that attach the actual valve.

Most valves come with step by step instructions but even without them it is usually a 30 minute job or less. You will need a flat head screw driver, spud wrench, tubing cutters- to cut the chrome trim tube to size, and some pipe thread compound or teflon tape.
Thanks for using Fix Ya and if I can be of further assistance let me know.

SOURCE: Unable to find replacement flush valve

You can usually find parts through a plumbing supply house in your area but.....If you go back to Home Depot, go to the service desk and ask to see the DooDads catalog. You should be able to find the replacement items for your toilet in it. Home Depot ownes the largest plumbing supply warehouse in North America. They will ship this item directly to your home at no extra cost. Good luck.

Where can I get a Porcher L'Expression flush valve gasket?

I was in the same situation. Cost me $2.38 to fix. Ordered 12" x 12" rubber sheet from Sustainable Supply and made my own flush valve. Easier than I imagined. All I did was trace the old flush valve on to the sheet with a Sharpie and cut it out with a pair of scissors. Yep, it was that easy. I ordered the 1/32" sheet and it worked on the first try. I would order the 2/32" next time because my handmade flush valve is a little thinner than the original; however, it works perfectly. I was shocked. I had searched the Internet and called all places I found and then decided to give it a go on my own. Here are the specs....it works.

Sku: C1749648
Rubber, Buna-N, 1/32"Thick, 12"x12", 70A - 4070-1/32A

When I flush the water goes down but does not take the paper with it... Help!!! Called sani plus company and they don't know!!!

If the paper isn't flushing, that means it's got too much drag to be carried down with the water. You've got a few options here:

1) Use lower ply paper, as it will be easier to flush
2) Use less paper, or flush after each wipe
3) Improve your toilet to a high rate-of-flow toilet

How do I replace a veneto flush piston in my toilet?

The piston sits inside the upper valve housing. The upper valve housing comes off by twisting the upper housing counter-clockwise. When you lift the valve housing out of the tank you will see the flush piston extruding from the bottom of the housing. The flush piston can be pulled out of the housing.. Yes, it just pulls out. And you just push the new piston in place.. Secure the valve assembly back into the tank by rotating the housing clock-wise.. Some Veneto toilets have two clips on the housing which secure the housing in place.

OCCASIONALLY HEAR SMALL LEAK COMING FROM BOTTOM OF TOILET...WATER BILL UNUSUALLY HIGH...(FAINT HISSING SOUND)

either the fill valve is running and water is draining into the bowl via the overflow tube in the tank or the flapper is bad (or foreign matter) and it is allowing water to escape into the bowl through the flush valve slowly...causing the tank to drain and the fill valve to run every few minutes or so. start by inspecting/cleaning or replacing the flapper and hopefully that will do it because a one piece toilet flush valve needs a special wrench,to remove it, that you use with a ratchet. If you buy a new flush valve, it comes with the wrench (glorified piece of plastic) and is not too difficult to get the flush valve out. you can get a replacement at http://www.plumbingpartsdepot.com/ They do mail order, too. All you need is the toilet type - a four digit number embossed in the tank starting with a 2. hope this helps but if you need anything else just ask:)

Porcher 6.0 Lpf / 1.6 toilet. Plumber said he

Try replacing the flapper, they are cheap and so long as the tank and or bowl are not cracked you can replace all of the internal parts and basically have a brand new toilet much cheaper then replacing the entire unit. Go down to your local hardware store and everything you need is in one simple kit with very simple instructions. Good Luck.
