Question about Denon DCR-670RD

1 Answer

Cd input? i just bought a van with a Denon DCR-670RD. is there any way i can wire in another input? say a PSP. i see a cd changer control and wonder how it inputs sound from a cd changer. nothing but the deck in the van. after removing it i see a midi looking connection and some outputs on the back. i expected to see an rca  input but nothing. is there a line in i can tap into using any of the pins in this connector or is it lost cause all together?

Re: cd input?

I'm afraid it would be a complicated task to tap into the line input on the cd changer connector because the line input only becomes active when a changer is connected, so you would have to connect a device that would talk to the head unit to tell it that a changer was there

CD changer output not working

There is an obscure setting for 'AUX' on/off that is hard to find unless you know what you're doing or looked in the manual. Typical Pioneer for ya.

Difference Between Denon In Dash DCR- 930R / 420 / 570

You will that the same tuner module is used across the range, at least when they are part of the same series. The tape transport has probably broken the capstan belt. Not a big deal to replace generally. If you want to know more about it, get back to me here:). A "FixYa" vote would be great for my profile.

Switching on the auxiliary input

According to the manual, the AUX input is an optional accessory.

Check to see if the RCA jacks are labeled. I believe they are pre-outs only.

Best of Luck.

MD/CD Changer Control Options

press source button repeatedly to select "CD" or "MD" be aware that in order to connecting Ipod to a car stereo you will need to use an extension cable with 3.5 mm stereo connectors on each end to connect iPod to your car stereo system's aux input, or use a cassette adapter if your car stereo doesn't have a sound input jack. Either of these items can be purchased at stores that sell car stereo accessories. good luck!
