Question about Boating
Volvo 2003 marine diesel problem starting after leaving for a day.It normallydraws diesel from below engine level so I set up a head tank but got called away and when I came back the diesel had drained into the lower tank through the fuel lift pump, filter, injector pumps and pipes.
It sounds like you need to vent the pipe before the fuel lift pump so the vent is open when the pump is off. That way the fuel can not siphon to the lower tank. Then you would need a valve in sync with the lift pump to close the vent so the pump can draw. Perhaps there is a lift pump with that feature built-in.
