Increase in dpi will not increase the resolution. dpi = dots per inch for example you have a res of 1024x768 at 72dpi you get a printed image of 14.2x10.6 inch at 300dpi you get a printed image of 3.4x2.5 inch
only thing possible is to interpolate the image. but thats **** in my opinion.

How do I increase the dpi setting on my finepix S3300

DPI (dots per inch) is an output setting and is irrelevant as far as the camera is concerned.

Imagine you're taking a picture that's 2000 by 3000 pixels. At the time you take the picture, do you care how big you print it? When you get home and make a 4x6 print, you're printing at 500 dpi. If you make a 8x12 print, you're printing at 250 dpi. Either way, you're printing the exact same picture as taken by the camera. Since the camera doesn't know how big a print you're going to make, it simply puts in a default value for the dpi.

Can I increase the 72dpi to 300dpi on my FinePix S7000 Camera?

No. DPI (dots per inch) only has meaning when you output a photo. It can control how large a print you make. A 4x6 print will have more DPI than an 8x10 print made from the same photo, since they both have the same number of dots but different numbers on inches.
You control the DPI when selecting the size of the print, not when you take the photo.

Does anyone know hot increase dpi on Fuji Finepix s5800?

This is an old posting but let me add my words here.
The bigger the recorded pixels the better the print quality becomes small numbers will be able to record more pictures to a memory card but the quality may only be good enough for internet use.

The picture Quality on your camera is retained even when you shut the camera off.
I'm including two diagrams the second one is pretty impressive and I think will make a print in the 20x24 inch range
Set one

tri3mast_36.jpg

Set two
tri3mast_37.jpg
3264x2448 producing a 10x12 double the size on a Canon, Fuji or Nordica print lab processing lab will produce a print 20x24.

Hope this was a help

Photographs always come into photoshop at 72dpi. how do I increase this so photographs come in at 300dpi?

Forget 72dpi. Photoshop opens the picture in 100%.
1 pixel on the monitor is one pixel from the camera.
300dpi is only relevant when making prints, where 300dpi is the highest quality you can get from a lab.
The smaller the print, the more dots you get per inch.

Why does the FinePix E510 pictures download from the camera at 72 dpi when the camera was set to take 500 megapixel photos? I cannot find any way to adjust this in the finepix manual or in online help. I...

A couple of things - I don't think you mean 500 megapixels (that is a lot!) but I assume you mean you expected a high resolution image. You may have it! The dpi setting is largely irrelevant (for photographers) as it simply relates number of pixels to a (notional) print size. Thus an image that is 3000 pixels wide (say) would print out to 10 inches at 300 dpi (3000/300) or 40 inches (approx) at 72 dpi (3000/72). the image has the same information /resolution - it's just "spread" further on the larger print. You can easily change the nominal dpi in e.g. Photshop Elements but it won't affect your image quality.
If however you are getting low resolution images when setting the camera differently that's something different. I would need extra info to help there but pssibly check if the camera was set to RAW and maybe you were looking at the (small) JPEG usually saved with it?

Need to Increase the DPI on my Fuji S5000

It does not work like this.

You can select the quality of the pictures (pixels) with the "F" key.
What you are talking about is "dots per inch", and that has to do with your printer.................,
where you can increase the dpi. 300dpi is not high quality at all !

Brand new camera - no image in view finder

Have you tried to format the camera? Alternatively, and don't mean to sound rude but have you taken the lense cap off?
Are you getting any menu options on the lcd screen or is it totally blank? If this is the case then likely there is a problem with your camera and you should speak to who ever you bought it from.

Good Luck.

Poor printing resolution...?!

You can select whatever resolution you want to print at on your Print(er) Setup.

If your Printer is automatically selecting a 72DPI to print at, you may be trying to print a 10X12 pic size or larger by default due to pic file size created when pic was taken in camera with full 7Meg resolution.

Use photo software to proper size the print before printing. If you want a print larger than 5X7, keep in mind the TZ3 begins to have recognizable noise, reduced resolution due to noise, especially in low light indoor or evening/nite outside shots. You can use photo software to improve and size them before printing. Windows Vista has a built-in photoshop type program. Else, I believe your camera comes with one on disk.

Also, read your manual regarding shooting with this camera.
