You have to connect it via audio cable.
you need a cable with two 3,5mm stereo jacks. this you have to connect with the stereo output of your computer (mostly the green one) with the audio jack on your monitor. it's somewhere on the back i think. sound / volume control you do in windows - its the same as if you connect normal stereo speakers to your computer.
(perhaps you have to unmute or to raise the volume in the monitors os menu)

Rotate screen

Screen rotation is provided via software from the Graphics Card provider. You won't find rotation options in the normal display resolution/refresh rate settings screens. You will have to download the associated NVidia or ATI (or other) advanced features software from the web.

I have an old computer and I installed w7 I lost sound, must I go back to my old XP to get it towork again.

I understand that you are unable to hear sound on the computer after upgrading to windows 7 operating system.

Please be rest assured I will try my best to help you.

This issue might occur if the playback devices are not enabled.

Let's make sure that your playback devices are enabled.

1. Right-click the speaker icon on your taskbar > Select 'Playback Devices'
2. In the empty space, Right-click and select both 'Show Disconnected/Disabled Devices'
3. Do you see icons for your speakers and headphones now? You may need to enable both of these.

You can also try the troubleshooter to discover any connection issues that may exist, instructions are below:

1. Click 'Start' > Select 'Control Panel'
2. Type troubleshooting in the top-right search field > Select 'Troubleshooting'
3. Click 'Hardware and Sound' > Select 'Playing Audio'

Please let us know if this did or didn't help to resolve your problem.

If the issue continues to occur, then we will have check for the drivers of the sound card. Hence , please let me know the sound card installed in the computer.

There is no sound coming out from my viewsonic VX1962wm monitor.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

Power coms on sceen turns on can see desktop for 5 seconds then black screen power light is still on and green?

You may have failures in the power supply (bad caps with bulging top/seal), failed inverter circuits (shorted transistors, transformers), bad lamps (bad solder connection on the leads). You need to open it up and inspect the inside, post back what you find so we can guide you further. See example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

No sound when using HDMI cable but I do have sound if using DVI

Is your computer configured to send sound through the HDMI cable as its output device? This might be a setting within your sound card properties.

How can i find the sound card manufacturer name ?

Please try to check your audio by right click (mouse) My Computer icon (on the desktop screen) > click Properties > select Hardware tab above > click Device Manager tab > click +Sound, Video & Game Controllers > double click your selected Audio Controller device- wherein you can see if the device status is working properly as well as if the Device Usage is Enabled, if not click Troubleshoot tab.

Or you can also check your Sound / Control device thru Start > Contol Panel > Sounds, Speech & Audio Devices > Sound & Audio Devices - wherein you can adjust the volume & test your sound. best regards

Viewsonic monitor goes blank but you can still here game playing.

I fix a lot of viewsonics and there is no diagrams available to the public as far as I know.
It could be your power board or inverter just needs rebuilding.
It may be a bulb, but usually the boards fail first
