DVD will not work!

When trying to play either a cd or dvd, the player will simply not work. I can hear the mechanism working,sounds like it's looking media to play but can't find anything. While this is going on, I can't stop the machine, turn it off or anything.
I have the same problem Post a new problem

If the pickup in the unit goes bad it can cause this. I'm not sure on a price of a pickup for your unit but it shouldn't be too expensive.
