Turn the Wi-Fi switch on the outside of the laptop to the "On" position if it is not already on.
Select "Control Panel" from the "Windows Start" menu. Select the "Network Connections" control panel.
Right-click the "Wireless Network Connection" beneath the "LAN or High-Speed Internet" header. Select "View Available Wireless Networks" from the context menu.
Select your wireless network and click "Connect." If you have a password set up, enter it when prompted and click "Connect" again. If no password is set up, a window will alert you that the network is not secured---click "Connect Anyway" to connect to the network.
