Front loader hums instead of starting

Try to get ahold of a qualified service technician that specializes in washing machines and dryers.
My guess is it could either be if its belt driven the belt has broke and the drive motor is turning freely or the drive motor is possibly burnt out or in need of replacement.
Its not much but I hope it helps

Washer belt keeps coming off

This issue is likely due to misalignment between the driving and driven pulleys. This misalignment can occur if one of the pulleys is loose on its shaft. You may be able to inspect the alignment to see if such a misalignment exists.
Another possibility is that your machine may have a belt tensioning idler. If so, it could be misaligned, worn out (does not rotate smoothly when the load is removed from it) or have loose mounting screws.
You will need to spend some time watching the belt while the machine is running in order to evaluate conditions at the time of failure.
Keep hands and loose clothing out of harms way.

I may have overloaded my Frigidaire Pin #134465400 0410 front loading washing machine. On the last load it did not complete the spin cycle and there is water laying in the bottom of the drum. When I try...

Pull the unit out from the wall and unplug it. Remove the back panel and check the counter weight (looks like a cement quarter round cement block), spider pulley and belt. The counter weight is attached to the top of the drum and can loosen and fall to the bottom damaging the spider pulley. If the counter weight is firmly attached to the top of the washer drum and the belt is attached to the spider pulley and motor, remove the top cover and lower front panel.
With any luck the counter weight knocked the belt off. If you are unlucky the counter weight broke the spider pulley.

Does the kenmore elite he4 washer belt go on with the ridges up or down

The ribbed side of the belt is placed against the spin basket drive pulley. The ridges are required to go to the inside in order to fit properly on the drive motor shaft. The following link explains how to properly install a drive belt on one of these front load washing machines:

If you have any questions about this repair, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Washes fine. However, belt comes off in cspin

If it is a toothed cog on motor you need to make sure its on okay, also if the drum pulley is loose or bearings gone/noisy this will cause it to fall off.

Belt won't stay on.

When you fit the belt, try turning the drum by hand,
Does it come off after a number of revolutions, if yes, you`ll probably find that the bearing in the motor or drum has failed allowing the shaft to move meaning that the pulley isn`t in line with the drum. New motor or bearing required. If it stays on when you manually turn it, does it flick off when the motor starts, if so, make sure that you`ve got the right belt, If it`s the wrong size, it will slip when the motor starts allowing the belt to move sidewards, hence slipping off the drum pulley wheel.
