Hi i have a pride viper,i have new batterie on it and scoota broke down on the road ,ihave checked the live wire on starter and it is dead.i have checked all wire jioners and their ok ,could you please tell me what it could be'

Hi, now that could be a fuse or you need to press a reset button, look at the front stem and under the seat.

hi its no use checking youre batteries with a voltmeter .multimeter this will not tell u how the condition of the batteries r u need a battery load tester to check condition of the cells ..u can buy them of E/BAY.....good luck

I have a1998 blazer with a viper remote start and alarm system 160xv truck died going down road. Replaced icm and fuel pump.. no power to pump.. relay for pump good what would be my next step..

Take out the viper system. Repair wires as you go. First, no one wants to steal your truck. Second, aftermarket systems are lucky to live past 5 years. I take them out all the time.

Sounds like the battery is weak. Yea 12 volts its good, but it needs it under the load also. Your local auto parts store Sb able to test it

to drain a Toyota battery in such a short time the earth wire and/or positive lead would be hot to the touch so you will have a bad short in the power circuit to the starter relay or starter solenoid Check all earth points are good and clean. Ensure that the battery terminals are shiny clean and tight as the heavy drain may be just bad connections and the resistance is to high to get an accurate voltage reading.

How to disconnect viper car alarm

Find your alarm module, it is a black, rectangular box with an antenna wire on one end. Remove any ties or fasteners holding the alarm in place and take it out from under the dash.
All you need to do is simply remove the two connected wires to the ignition switch, and connect it with the car side of the two together. This enables the ignition switch and that enhances the control over the starter again, without hindrance.

I had the Viper 5501 installed on my 2000 4Runner last week and today my new truck battery has died. I got it boosted and now it is dead again. The only thing I can think of is the car starter is draining...

Yes your alrm could have been installed wrong. Depending on where the tech hooked up his wiring he maybe at a spot where the alarm is not allowing the trucks computers to shut down. The trucks computers should shut down after 20 minutes to where it draws only 20 to 30 milliamps. If the tech hooked up his wiring in the wrong locations the computer may never shut down and will stay at 150 to 200 milliamp draw which in this case would drain the battery

Battery went dead,clifford alarm locked the engine

Assuming that all is well with the vehicle's electrical system (fuses, etc...), the following should work, as Viper/Clifford uses the "fail safe" method of starter disable, and it only works to lock out the starter when the alarm is functioning properly and in the armed state.

That system has a "starter kill" system. When the alarm is actived, the starter kill is engages, and won't let the starter get voltage from the ignition switch. First thing I'd try is connecting the car's battery while the ignition key is turned to the "on/run" position. Cycle the alarm to arm, then disarm, so that the LED is not blinking. It also may require using the manual override button/switch (with the key on) to reset the alarm. Should start after that.

If all else fails, reconnecting the starter wires back together (they are spliced and running through the alarm via a SPDT relay.

a new ford solenoid switch is only like $10 bucks but if your battery is going dead its not the solenoid, as its function is to switch power on and off to the starter, so my suggestion would be to take it by your local auto parts store and they will test your battery and alternator most of the time for free

Does the horn work ? , do the power tiller ? the display showing how much the battery is charged

ok lets check basics first
do you have lights on and power to head lights this is a plus if you do
if you dont its either dead cell in battery or bad alternator that wont charge battery

ok did you try a manuel start tool too starter or old fashion way jack car up and apply long screw driver between power cord and ground on starter this is also a manual start if car turns over its not a relay

look at your key has it been worn down or is it brand new these are indicators of old key cylinder wear
i had to replace my key cylinder the first day when i bought my truck they made me new key but cylinder was wore out i had several problems with other vehicles in this manner
if you made a new key cause old key was bad that doesnt change the fact that key cylinders wear out too

the relay panel is under the hood on fords now heres a suggestion to test them find similar relay in panel box pull out and place in bad relays place
this can tell you if the relay is truley the culprit but remeber when you change it put the other back in the spot you took out
cars come with average of 6 to 8 exact relays for different components of vehicle but they are the same in the panel

did you install a new car sterio system in the vehicle if you did you probably got the wires crossed or not in right place on wireing up radio fords tend to run a couple components threw sterio wires under my profile here i speak of proper wire harness and wire connections this is crucial

this is basics without computer diagnoses its the most info i can give you at this time
